Idaho State and Montana finished tied atop the Big Sky with the Bengals advancing to the NCAA tournament, as did Washington State. In Spokane, the Whitworth men captured the Northwest Conference championship and the CC Spokane women were NWAACC East Division champions while in Montana, Rocky Mountain College captured the Frontier’s titles in a sweep.
Players in action outside the region found quite a bit of success as well, chief among them being at Western Washington of the GNAC and Concordia of the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
At the end of the year INW Soccer News will also announce selections for more exclusive of collegiate honors (Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Team of the Year) along with several other honors in a series of Best of 2012 Awards. Make your case for who should be included by voting here: Women | Men
In the following lists, five players hailing from Idaho were recognized among the women with a sixth on the men’s lists. Montana saw six women honored and two on the men’s side. Washington had the most players on the lists with 13 women and seven men while one woman and two men were from Oregon. Seventeen players were from outside of the Northwest, including six from abroad.
