For the Road: NBC News report on major security concern at hotels

NBC News aired a report today concerning a significant new security flaw in the electronic hotel room key systems that criminals are now using to break into hotel rooms in a matter of seconds.  Knowing that most INWsoccernews viewers are often on the road, I felt that it was important to share this story so that teams, players and their property are safe when traveling to tournaments around the region. Before you go to the NBC News report linked below, here are the two most important things to remember when staying at a hotel.

1 – Always utilize the chain / bar lock when inside the room, especially since this security flaw overrides the door handle deadbolt locks. Make sure you particularly share this information with minors that may not be staying with an adult in their room.

2 – When not in the room, you should make sure to put valuable items in the room safe or take them with you. This is especially important for electronics, which often carry personal information, etc.
