University of Idaho adds German goalkeeper to 2012 roster

The University of Idaho announced the final addition to it's 2012 roster, an up-and-coming German goalkeeper Marina Siegl.

The 18-year-old will join the Vandals after two seasons with Bayern Munich, which is about to finish in the middle of the Frauen-Bundesliga table with one week left in the season. The club won the Cup championship a week ago with a 2-0 victory over defending champion FFC Frankfurt, who were also league runners-up a year ago.

With a German National Team keeper, Kathrin Langert, on the team, Siegl is further down the depth chart and plays for the club's reserve league team, playing two games in the second flight of German women's soccer the past season and sitting the bench four additional games in reserve, seven in two seasons. Though she has not played for the first team, she was the backup netminder on two occasions the past two years.

Bayern Munich features two American players, Niki Cross and Sarah Hagen, as well as five other players with international experience for Switzerland, Austria and Hungary.
