WPSL NW: Issaquah rallies past Portland, move into first

In a battle of the two top teams in the WPSL Northwest Division, Issaquah SC came from behind on the road versus the Portland Rain to earn a 3-1 victory, moving two points in front at the top of the table. Meanwhile, Eugene Metro and Emerald City played to a dramatic 2-2 draw in Oregon.

The home side took the lead 15 minutes into the contest with an Amanda Dutra corner kick finding Darcie Gardner for the opener.

Eight minutes into the second half another corner kick was put away, this time it was Stephanie Cummins scoring for Issaquah to level terms. And despite a couple good chances from Elizabeth Boon, the visitors took the lead with Shawna Anderson finishing off a scramble in the box in the 64th. Issaquah took command of the match with their third goal with 15 minutes remaining courtesy of Joana Houplin.

In the other match of the night, Eugene Metro FC took a 1-0 lead into halftime courtesy of a nice left-footed effort into the upper corner from new addition Megan Marchesano from Oklahoma State.

Visiting Emerald City FC rallied to take the advantage in the second half, getting the equalizer in the 65th and the go-ahead goal on a deflection four minutes later.

Eugene pushed for the tie, earning several corner kicks in the final moments. A few attempts in Chrissy Walter delivered a perfect restart, finding Ashlee Schulz to level terms in stoppage time for a 2-2 draw.
