Amidst the NAIA action this week, the College of Idaho ladies picked up a sweep at home that included an upset win over top-ranked Concordia in CCC action. On the men's side, Great Falls prevailed in the Frontier Conference showdown with rival Rocky Mountain, extending their streak to nine wins and earning a spot in the national poll.
In the NWAC East, North Idaho continues to dominate in the men's race while fellow contenders Walla Walla and Wenatchee played to a 3-3 draw in their showdown. On the ladies side Spokane picked up a pair of wins and got a little help from longtime rival Walla Walla, which handed Treasure Valley a loss as they try to pull themselves back out of their rare visit in the bottom half of the table. The Warriors earned two wins and a draw on the week, showing they just may be back in the picture come the end of the season.

A ball in from Jamiece Yizar (Pocatello, ID) just under 90 seconds into the contest set up Katelyn Benavidez for the opener and Allie Boyd (Boise, ID) knocked in a cross from Hailey Woods (Meridian, ID) in the fifth minute to double the lead. The Knights answered in the first minute of the second half but could not find an equalizer before Yizar clinched matters on a through ball from Jessica Whitehead (Kuna, ID) in the 89th. Outshot 24-8 by the top-ranked and defending national champion Cavaliers, the only thing that mattered was the 65th minute header by Sydney Woods (Meridian, ID) off a Hailey Woods (Meridian, ID) corner. The connection between sisters stood as the deciding goal in the contest. Brittany Houghton (six saves) and Aimee Pierson (four saves) split the shutout. Patty Hughes (Kalispell, MT) needed just one save for the shutout as the Eagles dominated the contest to the tune of a 20-6 advantage in shots.

The Knights fell behind in the 11th but rallied on a hat-trick from Mario Guizar (Kennewick, WA / Walla Walla CC). He beat the keeper one-on-one off a through ball from Geovanny Vazquez (Kennewick, WA / Walla Walla CC) that put him on the break in the 41st minute. He scored the second in the final minute of the half with an 18-yard effort that deflected off a defender and belted home a shot from about 20 yards off a loose ball in the 65th to add some insurance.
Corban University 1-0 Concordia University
Midfielder Derik Chaney (Helena, MT) provided the winning strike from about 15 yards out in the 63rd minute, giving they Warriors their first win at Concordia in eight years.

Idaho native Tanner Williams (Sandpoint, ID) provided the deciding tally in the 15th minute when he beat a several defenders before finding the back of the net from 15 yards. The Yotes, who lost Andres Idoeta to a red card in the 63rd, were outshot 16-8 in the game with Grant Billings (Boise, ID) making five saves for the visitors in the loss. MORE [+]

Tyler Lawton (Boise, ID / Walla Walla CC) put the Yotes on the board in the 24th minute off a cross from Jake Helm (Boise, ID) but the hosts rallied for the win behind the efforts of Trever Moll (Polson, MT). The Argos pushed their unbeaten and win streak to nine games, but needed to rally on the road for the result following a Zach Wall (Billings, MT) goal on a ball from Mason Luse (Billings, MT) at the half-hour mark. Three minutes after the opener Juan Valderrama (Spokane Shadow) scored the equalizer. Michaela Kueffler (Billings, MT) had a good afternoon. She tallied the opener in the 13th minute of the match on a ball from Cassie Baldwin and then returned the favor as the two combined to push the lead to three in the 80th minute after a 53rd minute goal from Kayla Bayer via Madison Apsey (Boise, ID). Kueffler beat the keeper one-on-one for her second in the 83rd minute courtesy of Cassidy Hammons (Kennewick, WA). Jamie Carter and Daielle Turley shared the shutout.

Katey Friedt (Eagle, ID) put the Saints on the board from 10 yards in the eighth minute with Hammons doubling the advantage in the 27th. Lexi Pyette (Great Falls, MT) pushed it to three six minutes into the second half and an own goal made it four two minutes later. Carter and Turley again shared the shutout.

The Hawks surprised the Warriors, snaring the victory with two minutes remaining in the contest via Fredy Rodriguez (Wapato, WA). Lupe Arceo (Royal, WA) made four saves for the hosts while Francisco Flores (Milton-Freewater, OR) made five stops for the Warriors.
Treasure Valley CC 1-4 North Idaho College
In a lightning delayed contest, Diego Diaz Sanchez put the Chukars on the board first 22 minutes in, but Brady Ulen (Post Falls, ID) and Elias Herman (Bozeman, MT) propelled the Cardinals onto the victory in the second half. Ulen scored the opener on a ball from Herman for the equalizer in the 69th minute and then set up the Taylor Haman's (Twin Falls, ID) winner in the 74th. The hosts got on the board first when Jose Vazquez (Kennewick, WA) found Christian Vega (Walla Walla, WA) 16 minutes into the contest, but the Chukars pulled even five minutes later via Diaz Sanchez. Vincente Flores (Touchet, WA), however, restored the lead in the 33rd minute and Vazquez, on a ball from Jose Anguiano (Kennewick, WA), doubled the advantage with what proved to be the winner in the 55th with Treasure Valley scoring getting their second from Jesus Pelayo (Blackfoot, ID) in the 83rd.
North Idaho College 1-0 Wenatchee Valley College
Talley's strike six minutes into the contest held, giving the Cardinals the roan win in a showdown the division contenders. Mitch Markovetz (Boise, ID) was in goal for the Cardinals. MORE [+]

The Knights held the lead at the break with Jose Casillas (Wenatchee, WA) scoring the lone tally of the period, but it turned into a wild affair in the second half of the contest. Josh Alvarez (Leavenworth, WA) set up Mauricio Perez (East Wenatchee, WA) to double the lead in the 63rd, but the Warriors answered six minutes later through Francisco Sanchez (Walla Walla, WA). The visitors pulled even in the 74th via Vincente Flores (Touchet, WA), but the hosts restored the lead with the Alvarez-Perez combination again in the 80th. Moments away from the win, the Warriors snared the tie with Sanchez netting his second of the game in the 90th.

The Bigfoot dominated the contest with goalkeeper Emily Busselman (Richland, WA) finishing with just one save, but the first half finished with the hosts only up one on Sarah Melvin's (Spokane, WA) 19th minute strike set up by Maddie Brown (Greenleaf, ID). The Sasquatch, however, blew things open with a four-goal outburst in a six-minute span early in the second half. Brown set up Jessica Geibel (Spokane, WA) for the first in the run in the 59th and Hannah Sanders (Kennewick, WA) pushed the lead to three in the 61st via Rashelle Fisher. Melvin tallied her second two minutes later and Geibel set up Lexi Miller (Pasco, WA) in the 65th. Yakima Valley spoiled the shutout with a goal from Anissa Araiza (Yakima, WA) in the 73rd.

The game remained close until the later stages when Brittany Vickerman (Connell, WA) scored back-to-back in the 75th and 76th minutes courtesy of Debra Hulse (Prosser, WA) and Jenna Ballandby (Kennewick, WA). The Cardinals dominated the contest with Priddy scoring the first of their three goals in the opening 21 minutes. Sydney Sol (Spokane Valley, WA) doubled the lead in the 20th and Alex Rankin (Newman Lake, WA) made it three a minute later. Thomas opened the scoring in the 20th minute on a ball from Cleaver, who doubled the advantage 12 minutes later via Rivera. Yates cut the deficit in half two minutes before the intermission, but the Yaks were unable to even it up with Sierra Martinez (Boise, ID) adding some insurance in the 63rd for the Chukars.

Fisher scored the winning strike six minutes into the second half on a ball from Miller with Busselman making three saves for the clean sheet.

Sydni Thomas (Greenacres, WA) found Miller in the 62nd and then Fisher connected with Halie Gronenthal (Spokane, WA) in the 71st before scoring the final goal herself two minutes later via Thomas.
