INW Best XI - Week 5: Ramos and Widner big scorers for Whitworth, Montana in sweeps

In earning INWsn Player of the Week recognition, Mike Ramos (Spokane, WA) put forth one of the most impressive NCAA performances in INWsn history in Whitworth's 7-1 victory at George Fox in which he played a role in every goal for the Pirates. In Montana, striker Hallie Widner (Meridian, ID) guided the Grizzlies to a pair of victories in Big Sky action.

BEST OF THE INLAND NORTHWEST XI - MEN

D - Matt Bray (Spokane, WA) - Whitworth :: Led the Pirates defensively in a pair of dominant performances on the road in which they allowed just six shots on goal in 7-1 win at George Fox and 4-1 win at Pacific. - Second all-time selection

D - Isaac Sappington (Pasco, WA) - Whitman :: Helped lead the Missionaries back line to a pair of shutout victories on the road, downing Pacific 1-0 Saturday and George Fox 2-0 Sunday.

M - Julio Castillo - Northwest Nazarene :: Set up both goals in Northwest Nazarene's 2-0 win at Western Washington Thursday. (Wilmington, CA)

M - Jack Clancy - Rocky Mountain College :: Scored four goals in a 5-1 non-league win against Trinity Lutheran College Saturday. (Westmeath, Ireland) - Fourth all-time selection; second this year

M - Mario Guizar (Kennewick, WA / Walla Walla CC) - Warner Pacific College :: Scored twice in the Knights' 4-1 victory at Oregon Tech Tuesday. - Seventh all-time selection; first for WPC

M - Eliseo Santana (Idaho Falls, ID) - Corban University :: Scored the opening goal and set up the final one in a 3-0 victory at Evergreen State Tuesday and scored twice in a 5-0 victory against Northwest Christian Saturday.

F - Josh Alvarez (Leavenworth, WA) - Wenatchee Valley CC :: Scored twice in a 3-1 victory at Treasure Valley CC Wednesday and two goals, including the winner, in a 4-2 victory at CC Spokane Saturday. - Second all-time selection; both this year

F - Jordan Byland (Missoula, MT) - Great Falls :: Scored twice in a back-and-forth affair against Carroll College in a 5-3 victory Saturday. - Third all-time selection

F - Colin Ralston - MSU-Billings :: Trailing by two at powerhouse Simon Fraser, he scored twice to give the Yellowjackets the draw. (Belfair, WA)

INW MEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK :: F - Mike Ramos (Spokane, WA) - Whitworth :: Involved in every goal Saturday in 7-1 victory at George Fox, scoring three goals and setting four others. He then scored another goal in a 4-1 win at Pacific in which he also had a shot off the bar put in off the rebound. - Fourth all-time selection; all this year

F - Adam Talley (Newman Lake, WA) - North Idaho College :: Set up the opener and scored the next two in a 3-0 victory at Columbia Basin College Saturday. - Fifth all-time selection; third this year


BEST OF THE INLAND NORTHWEST XI - WOMEN

G - Jamie Carter - Carroll College :: Made five saves in a scoreless draw at Rocky Mountain College Sunday. (Camas, WA)

G - Patty Hughes (Kalispell, MT) - Northwest University :: Made three saves in a 3-0 shutout at Oregon Tech and another six stops for the clean sheet in a 1-0 win at Southern Oregon. - Second all-time selection

G - Cassandra Van Der Mey - North Idaho College :: Made four saves as she shared a 2-0 shutout win Wednesday against Yakima Valley and then made six saves in the scoreless stalemate at Columbia Basin College Saturday. (Victoria, BC)

D - Malia Maack (Spokane, WA) - New Mexico Highlands :: Set up both goals in a 2-0 victory at Colorado Christian Friday, and played in a narrow 1-0 loss at Metropolitan State University of Denver Sunday.

D - Elle' Nelson (Missoula, MT) - Warner Pacific College :: Helped lead the Knights, picked to finish ninth in the conference, to a pair of 1-0 shutout victories over Corban and Northwest Christian.

M - Katherine Roberts (Pocatello, ID) - Idaho State :: Scored both goals in a comeback 2-1 overtime victory at Eastern Washington Friday

F - Hadli Farrand (Ellensburg, WA) - Central Washington :: Trailing by two, she set up their first in the comeback before scoring the equalizer and the overtime winner in the 3-2 victory at Northwest Nazarene. - Second all-time selection

F - Sofia Huerta (Boise, ID) - Santa Clara :: Scored the deciding goal in the 1-0 victory at Cal State Northridge Friday and then scored the equalizer Sunday in a 2-1 victory at Long Beach State. - Eleventh all-time selection; third this year

F - Alissa Soo - Whitman College :: Scored the equalizer for the Missionaries in a 1-1 draw at Pacific Saturday and the opening goal in the 2-1 overtime victory at Linfield Sunday. (Seattle, WA)

F - Chloe Williams (Spokane, WA) - Eastern Washington :: Scored the equalizer and set up the winner in a 5-1 victory over Weber State Sunday after scoring the lone goal in the 2-1 overtime loss to Idaho State Friday.
