Week 10 Collegiate INW Best XI – Men & Women

They say defense wins championships. It was certainly the theme this week with defensive performances being key this weekend as teams make the final push for the postseason.  For games through Sunday, October 21.

INLAND NW SOCCER NEWS BEST XI – WOMEN

G – Sheridan Hapsic (San Clemente, CA) Idaho State
:: Five saves in a 2-0 victory versus Northern Colorado and seven more saves in a 3-0 victory against North Dakota to claim a share of the Big Sky title.  

G – Jamie Walker (Graham, WA) Eastern Washington :: Made six saves for a scoreless draw at Arizona for only their second road point and another six saves in the Eagles’ first road victory, 1-0 at Southern Utah, of the year.

D – Lauren Costa (Missoula, MT) Montana :: Helped lead the Grizzlies to two 1-0 road victories against Southern Utah and Northern Arizona to claim a share of the Big Sky title. 

Allyson Stainbrook, Idaho State
D – Allyson Stainbrook (South Jordan, UT) Idaho State :: Led the team to a pair of shutout wins, topping Northern Colorado 2-0 and scoring directly off the corner in a 3-0 win against North Dakota to claim a share of the Big Sky title .

D – Katie Cashman (Granite Falls, WA) Eastern Washington :: Helped lead the Eagles defense to a pair of shutout performances on the road to finish out the conference campaign.

M - Mary Makris (Emigrant, MT) Montana :: Assist for the 1-0 winner at Southern Utah and scored the 1-0 winner at Northern Arizona to claim a share of the Big Sky title.

D – Lindzee Baker (Spokane, WA) Linfield :: Scored the 2-1 game-winner with 10 minutes left to defeat fellow conference one-loss side Puget Sound, avenging their only loss.

INW PLAYER OF THE WEEK :: M - Jacque Bundtrock (Boise, ID / Treasure Valley CC) Northwest Christian :: Scored the first equalizer in a 3-2 overtime win against Warner Pacific and headed in the winning strike against #1 Concordia with the team’s only shot in the match for a 1-0 overtime win.

F – Megan Lindsay (Spokane, WA) Seattle Pacific :: Tallied two equalizers in a 4-2 road win against Saint Martin’s and provided both goals in the 2-0 home win versus Western Oregon.

F – Hannah Bokma (Spokane, WA) Whitworth
:: Scored the winning goal in a 1-0 overtime victory against Pacific University and provided the winner in the 2-1 victory against George Fox.

F - Lauren Brophy (Helena, MT) Rocky Mountain :: Tallied a goal and assist in the 3-1 victory against Westminster.

INLAND NW SOCCER NEWS BEST XI - MEN

G – Eoin Hurley (Dublin, Ireland) MSU-Billings :: Stopped four shots in a 2-1 overtime win against Western Washington allowing only a penalty, and made three saves in scoreless draw against Simon Fraser.

D – Conner Moe (Snohomish, WA) MSU-Billings :: Helped lead defense and converted a penalty in 2-1 overtime win against Western Washington and helped shutout Simon Fraser. 

D - Ricky Carmolinga (Hillsboro, OR/ CC Spokane) Warner Pacific :: Scored the second goal in a 2-2 draw against College of Idaho and set up the opening goal in a 6-0 win against Oregon Tech.  

Andrew French, Whitworth
D – Balin Larson (Seattle, WA) Whitworth :: Led the Pirates to a 3-1 win against Pacific University and scored the opening goal in in 6-0 win against George Fox.
 
INW PLAYER OF THE WEEK :: M – Andrew French (Lacey, WA) Whitworth :: Set up the opener and scored the second goal in the first half of 3-1 victory against Pacific University and scored two goals in 6-0 win against George Fox.

M - Hugo Gonzalez (Long Beach, CA) Great Falls :: Scored a last-minute equalizer in a 1-1 draw at Marymount College and provided the game-winner in the 1-0 victory against Westminster.

M - Sergio Burgos (Las Vegas) Walla Walla CC :: Scored game-winner in 7-1 victory at Wenatchee Valley and tallied opening goal in 2-1 victory versus Treasure Valley.

F/M - Leland Matthaeus (Redmond, WA) Whitman :: Scored the opening goal in a 2-0 victory against George Fox and set up the opening strike in a 2-0 win against Pacific University.

F - Robby Ubben (Gig Harbor, WA) Whitworth
:: Scored the opening goal in a 3-1 win against Pacific University and created the opening goal before scoring the team’s second in a 6-0 win against George Fox.

F - Christian Johansen (Drammen, Norway) Great Falls :: Scored two goals to erase initial deficit at Soka University of Amerika in 5-2 win.

F - Jesse Esquivel (Yakima, WA) Columbia Basin College :: Scored the opening goal and added an assist in a 4-0 victory at Whitman College and scored the game-winner in the 3-2 victory at Wenatchee Valley.
