Week 8 Collegiate INW Best XI – Men & Women

It was quite a week for goalkeepers on the women’s side with four players making the list with standout performances, including one setting a career school and conference record and another impressing in her debut. For games through Sunday, October 7.

INLAND NW SOCCER NEWS BEST XI - WOMEN

Jamie Arthurs
PLAYER OF THE WEEK :: G – Jamie Arthurs (Richland, WA) Western Washington :: Only needed two saves for a 2-0 shutout at Simon Fraser, but four stops in a 1-0 win at Central Washington made her the all-time career shutout leader (32) for the Vikings as well as the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. She has not allowed a goal in the last 450 minutes (five games).  

G – Briana Carlin (Puyallup, WA) Carroll :: Made eight saves in a scoreless draw against 10th-ranked CSU-San Marcos in her collegiate debut.

G – Kristen Hoon (Corona, CA) Montana :: Four saves in a 1-0 victory against Northern Colorado. She made one more save in 78 minutes of a 4-0 win against North Dakota.

G – Jamie Walker (Graham, WA) Eastern Washington
:: Eleven saves in scoreless shutout against Northern Colorado.

D – Zoe Jeffers (Peoria, AZ) Washington State :: Registered first goal and assist in a 3-0 victory against Arizona.

M - Haley Lightfoot (Spokane, WA) Evergreen
:: Two goals in a pair of losses, 3-2 to Northwest Christian in overtime and 5-1 to Corban.

M/F - Allie Simon (Cary, IL) Montana :: Scored the winning strike late in the match for the 1-0 victory against Northern Colorado.

F - Julia Moravec (Spokane, WA) Seattle U :: Goal and the assist on the game-winner in 5-1 win against Idaho.

F - Megan Lindsay (Spokane, WA) Seattle Pacific :: Scored the game-winner in the 98th minute for 1-0 overtime win at Central Washington and provided goal and assist in 2-0 victory against Simon Fraser.

F - Julie Zamzow (Boise, ID) Southern Oregon :: Scored go-ahead goal in final minute of regulation of a 3-2 overtime victory.

F – Cassie Black (Battle Ground, WA) Eastern Washington :: Hat-trick in 4-1 win against North Dakota.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK :: G – Kyle Novak (Eugene, OR) Whitworth :: Five saves in 1-0 overtime shutout win versus Whitman, including a diving stop in overtime.

D – Evan McNiel (Castaic, CA) Northwest Nazarene :: Scored the lone goal in a 1-0 victory against MSU-Billings.

M - Nikolai Littleton (Oakland, CA) Gonzaga :: Free kick assist on equalizer in 2-1 overtime loss at Loyola Marymount.

M – Sal Sanchez (Ontario, OR) Northwest Nazarene :: Set up the lone goal in the 1-0 overtime victory against MSU-Billings.

M - Anderson Cardoso (Sao Paulo, Brazil) Great Falls :: Assist in a 3-1 win at Walla Walla College and set up game-winner in 2-0 victory at Whitman.

M - Hugo Gonzales (Long Beach, CA) Great Falls :: Scored two game-winners, downing Walla Walla College 3-1 and Whitman 2-0.

M - Brandon Loeffler (Butte, MT) Rocky Mountain :: Tallied a goal and the assist on the game-winner in 3-1 victory at Jamestown College.

M – Michael Kingsley (Boise, ID) CC Spokane :: Assist in 2-1 victory at Olympic and tallied a goal and two assists in 4-1 win at Wenatchee Valley.

F - Ricardo Carillo (Prineville, OR) Portland :: Scored the game-winner in the 80th minute in 2-1 win at Loyola Marymount.

F – Sam Engle (Eugene, OR) Whitworth :: Stole the ball and set up 1-0 overtime game-winner versus Whitman.

F - Oliver Gore (Stafford, England) Rocky Mountain :: Two goals in second half led team to 3-1 win at Jamestown College.
