MLS Affiliate / Loan Watch - Lower Divisions Round 3

Here is a quick look around the Lower Divisions at the players on loan from Major League Soccer.

The Revolution foursome with the Rhinos saw action in Rochester's trip to Charlotte and Richmond. Gabe Latigue was the lone player to start both contests, but only saw 119 minutes of play. Meanwhile, Tyler Polak and Matt Horth started the scoreless draw at Charlotte, but Polak came off the bench in the 4-1 loss to Richmond while Horth did not play. Bilal Duckett went the full contest in Richmond after coming off the bench in Charlotte.

For Richmond though, fewer players were available from DC, particularly Casey Townsend, who had a brace last week. The Kickers did not miss him though with the big victory as Andrew Dykstra added another win and Conor Shanosky played the full match. Brown Ownby, who played for the Houston Dynamo Reserves earlier in the week, went 83 minutes.

Yann Songo'o helped lead Orlando City to a 3-2 victory against the LA Blues Friday with the second goal of the match as he went the full match along with keeper Jon Kempin. Dom Dwyer played all but three minutes, but Christian Duke was not as lucky, leaving the contest after 13 minutes with a leg injury.

Though he is on loan from the PDL side, Vancouver's Ben Fisk made an impact for the Charleston Battery in his debut, tallying a goal and an assist in their 4-0 victory. Fish set up the opening goal in the 21st minute and tallied his own two minutes later as he went 67 minutes.

Playing against MLS Reserve opposition may have proven to be a spark for two of the Philadelphia Union loanees as Greg Jordan scored game-winner in his full 90 and Christhian Hernandez had a goal and an assist in 78 minutes as the Harrisburg City Islanders nabbed a 2-1 win in Colorado. Jimmy McLaughlin also played 87 minutes.

In the NASL, loaned players Carlyle Mitchell (Vancouver) and Alex Dixon (Houston) saw action. Mitchell picked up his second consecutive yellow card while going another full 90 for FC Edmonton in a 2-0 loss while Dixon came off the bench for 25 minutes for Tampa Bay in a 4-3 loss.
