INW Best XI - Week 10: Shuman leads MSUB to second; Ontiveros guides NNU in upset

It was a week of outstanding performances in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

Chelsea Shuman (Kalispell, MT) helped lead the MSU-Billings Yellowjackets to a second-place finish in the GNAC last week with an outstanding two-game performance as they narrowly edged out Seattle Pacific in the table via tiebreakers. She was directly involved in four, scoring three of them, as they blanked Simon Fraser and rallied at Northwest Nazarene for an overtime victory.

Northwest Nazarene, sitting fifth in the West Region poll and needing to stay in the top six for a national tournament berth, pretty much solidified their spot in the postseason by handing second-ranked Seattle Pacific their first loss of the year Thursday thanks to Alfredo Ontiveros' shutout performance. He nearly had another clean sheet Saturday only to see Saint Martin's spoil it in the very last second.
