Cullen and Skinner Lead Late Season Pushes in Week 6 INWsn HS Best XI Lists

With late season title hopes Mead was being led by the hottest goalkeeper in the league with Mercedes Cullen on a lengthy shutout streak, earning Player of the Week honors. Meanwhile, Clarkston registered a huge win over unbeaten West Valley via Rebecca Skinner for a late chance at the GSL 2A title.

BEST XI 4A/3A 


PLAYER OF THE WEEK :: G - Mercedes Cullen (Mead, Sr) - Five saves in a 2-0 shutout victory at Central Valley and six saves in outstanding performance against Gonzaga Prep before exiting for injury in the 56th minute - in the midst of a 356 minute shutout streak - of what ultimately was scoreless draw decided in shootout. 


D - Emersyn Heuett (Cheney, Jr) - The former midfielder helped lead the back line in a 4-1 victory against LC.  


D - Addy Litscher (Gonzaga Prep, Jr) - Full game shutout at centerback, denying a few close call breakaway opportunities in win at Mead.


D - Abby Morrow (Mt Spokane, Sr) - Anchored the defense that earned two shutouts, blanking contender Central Valley as well as Ridgeline.  


D - Addie Romey (Mt Spokane, Sr) - Anchored the defense that earned two shutouts, blanking contender Central Valley as well as Ridgeline.


D - Shannon Wood (Mead, Sr) - Tasked with marking Zoe Crockett, she helped lead the Panthers to a 2-0 victory against Central Valley. Also helped lead back line in scoreless draw against Gonzaga Prep before shootout defeat. 


D/M - McKinley Ullman (University, Jr) - Scored two goals against Ridgeline as an outside back.


M - Lily Pesnell (Ridgeline, Jr) - Assist in 4-3 overtime loss to University and pair of assists in a 3-1 win at Ferris. 


M - Kylie Stiles (Mt Spokane, Sr) - Opening goals in both games that held as winners, tallying in 2-0 win against Central Valley and then the opener and assist on the second in 4-0 result against North Central. 


M - Preslie Young (Ridgeline, So) - Hat-trick in 4-3 overtime loss to University. 


F - Alex Miller (Cheney, So) - Hat-trick in a 4-1 win versus Lewis & Clark


BEST XI 2A/1A 


D - Macy Cummings (Lakeside, Fr) - A freshman starter, she helped lead the team to a 3-1 win at Freeman and capped the week with her first varsity goal in shutout win against Colville. 


D - Addison Jahn (Shadle Park, Fr) - The outside back had two goals in victory against Rogers after an excellent performance helping shut down leading scorer for Pullman in narrow 1-0 loss. 


D - Grace Martinson (Deer Park, Jr) - A dangerous player out of the back in 3-2 non-league at GSL contender Mead, she provided a positive dynamic for the offense while cutting off many attacks. Also tallied a goal and four assists in win at Newport. 


M/D - Ayanna Tobeck (Lakeside, So) - A commanding midfield presence and distributor, she tallied twice and set up two others. The cemented the 3-1 win at Freeman with a fantastic goal and tallied opening goal and assist against Colville.


M - Brooklyn Dryden (Deer Park, Jr) - Excellent wing attacker that creates a lot of scoring opportunities. Set up pair of goals in win at Newport. 


M - Evelyn Jurgens  (Newport, Sr) - Two hat-tricks in back-to-back 3-2 and 3-1 wins versus Medical Lake. 


M - Livvy Moore (Deer Park, Sr) - Started the week with four goals and assist in win at Newport and then was involved in all three in 3-2 non-league win at GSL contender Mead, scoring the opener and winner. 


M - Luella Skinner (Clarkston, Sr) - Hat-trick in a 6-0 road win against East Valley and goal and assist in showdown against league leader West Valley for 3-1 win. 


F - Campbell Hodgen (East Valley, Sr) - Set up the opening goal and tallied the equalizer against Pullman in what ended up as an upset 3-2 shootout win. 


F - Abbi McLellan (Lakeside, Sr) - In the two games this week she scored five goals and had one assist, tallying the opener in the 3-1 win at Freeman and the rest against Colville.    


PLAYER OF THE WEEK :: F - Rebecca Skinner (Clarkston, Fr) - Two goals and two assists in 6-0 win at East Valley and involved in all three goals in 3-1 win against league-leading West Valley with goal and two assists.
