HS Round-Up 10.16: Clarkston Hands West Valley First Loss; Wildcats Join Bullpups at the Top

Though not as many teams are as involved, it looks like GSL 2A is gonna go down to the wire as well with Clarkston and West Valley now having split on the season and need to avoid slip-ups in the final week. Meanwhile, a win in a makeup game on Friday allowed Mt Spokane to pull level with Gonzaga Prep in the other half of the GSL as five teams sit separated by four points going into the final two games next week.

Ridgeline 0-4 Mt Spokane

The Wildcats controlled the quarantine makeup contest as they looked to pull even with Gonzaga Prep in the table going into the final week. An early goal set the pace as Mt Spokane's speed continued to be an issue throughout the first half en route to a three goal advantage at the break.

Deer Park 3-2 Mead

The Lady Stags travelled to Union Stadium and wasted no time jumping on a Panthers side that went the distance in a late game the night before. Livvy Moore collected her own rebound and knocked it home in the 11th minute after a nice save from Mia Speir. Then a few minutes later she found Ella Carnahan, who buried a nice shot into the far post. Moore wasn’t done and scored again just after the start of the second half. An own goal a minute later got the Mead on the board and from there the Panthers settled down and played most of the second half in Deer Park's end. Halie Egan got one late but the Lady Stags walked away with the victory.
