Defensive Stars Reagan, Sicilia Lead Week 4 INWsn HS Best XI Lists

In Week 4 a multitude of 1-0 contests in the 4A/3A flight put the spotlight on defensive performances and chief among them was Cheney keeper Sydney Reagan. And in a week of rather one-sided affairs among the 2A/1A contingent, West Valley defender Abbie Sicilia stood out for her role in a shutout win in the battle of unbeatens.

BEST XI 4A/3A 



PLAYER OF THE WEEK :: G - Sydney Reagan (Cheney, Sr) - After team rallied in second half, she made two saves in shootout for 3-2 SOW against Central Valley. She then posted two shutouts the rest of the week, downing Gonzaga Prep on the road 1-0 and falling in a shootout to Mead after a scoreless draw despite two more stops in that tiebreaker as well.


G - Mercedes Cullen (Mead, Sr) - Made six saves in a 1-0 overtime loss to Lewis & Clark and another six in a 1-0 shootout win at Cheney, plus another two in the tiebreaker. 


D - Sam Bailey (University, Sr) - Centerback who shut down the Ferris attack and helped secure the 1-0 overtime shutout victory.


D - Caeli Dornay (Lewis & Clark, Jr) - Defensive center mid stalled most of Ferris and Mead's attacks over the week. Set up the game winning goal in 1-0 overtime win against Mead.


D - Ava Gentamann (Ferris, Sr) - The centerback,  consistently excellent and calm on the ball helping possess all the around the field, helped guide the Saxons to a 2-0 win against LC and in 1-0 overtime loss at University. 


D - Emma Van Gemert (Gonzaga Prep, Sr) - Outside back, held dangerous Mt. Spokane attackers at bay in 1-0 shutout victory. 


D - Adrianna Wood (Cheney, Sr) - Centerback, leader on defense, contributed to the two shutouts against Gonzaga Prep, 1-0 win, and Mead, 1-0 shootout loss. 


D/M - McKinley Ullman (University, Jr) - Held off the Ferris attack as an outside back and limited them to few scoring opportunities in a 1-0 overtime win.


M - Teryn Gardner (Mead, So) - Tallied a hat-trick in 5-1 win against North Central. 


F - Zoe Crockett (Central Valley, Sr) - Scored both goals in a 3-2 shootout loss at Cheney and tallied two goals and an assist in a 5-0 win at North Central. 


F - Cadence Peroff (Ferris, Jr) - Broke lengthy stalemate in second half en route to 2-0 win against Lewis & Clark, which Ferris had not beaten in three years. 



BEST XI 2A/1A 


G - Aubrey Lobdell (West Valley, So) - Five saves in a 3-0 shutout victory against Clarkston in battle of unbeatens and another shutout against Shadle Park. 


D - JoeAnna Avila (Rogers, Jr) - The standout anchor of the Pirates back line, she helped lead Rogers to its best outing of the season against Shadle Park. 



PLAYER OF THE WEEK :: D - Abbie Sicilia (West Valley, Jr) - Set up the opening two goals in key 3-0 shutout win against Clarkston in battle of unbeatens.     


D/M - Tavyn Myhren (Lakeside, Jr) - Scored a massive 30 yard bomb to help secure a 4-0 shutout versus Riverside from the defensive midfield position and followed that up with a big effort against a tough Cheney side to secure a 3-1 non-league win, playing centerback role alongside a freshman.    


M - Gillian Simpson (West Valley, Sr) - Tallied a goal and assist in battle of unbeatens against Clarkston in 3-0 victory and scored two more goals in a 5-0 road win against Shadle Park. 


M - Lexie Thompson (East Valley, Sr) - Scored twice in 7-0 win against Rogers. 


F - Kyleigh Archer (Shadle Park, Jr) - Two goals and two assists in 4-0 win against Rogers for first league win of the season.


F - Aubrey Gregory (Freeman, Fr) - Six goals and one assist against Colville along with three goals and three assists against Medical Lake.


F - Abbi McLellan (Lakeside, Sr) - Had two goals and an assist versus Riverside in a 4-0 win and followed that up with a goal and assist versus GSL power Cheney in a 3-1 non-league win.  


F - Rebecca Skinner (Clarkston, Fr) - Two goals, two assists in 5-1 win against Pullman. 


F - Delani Walker (West Valley, Sr) - Goal in 3-0 victory against Clarkston in battle of unbeatens and set up two goals in 5-0 win at Shadle Park.
