Lower Division Power Rankings - June 18

The top two last week both upset MLS opposition this week and the rest of the top 10 had results against varied opponents that just didn't warrant moves up or down the list in comparison to the others. The bottom half of the list, however, saw some movement with Rochester and San Antonio posting victories.

1 (1) Orlando City (USL Pro) :: 10-1-2 :: Idle in league play deservingly after knocking off a second MLS club in the US Open Cup Wednesday, downing their MLS affiliate Sporting KC 1-0 on the road without their loaned players.

2 (2) Carolina RailHawks (NASL) :: 4-1-4 :: Carolina opened the week with a 3-1 overtime victory at home in the US Open Cup, downing their second consecutive MLS club, Chivas USA. They then traveled to Edmonton, and earned a 1-1 draw with a late tally.

3 (3) Tampa Bay Rowdies (NASL) :: 3-4-3 :: Were blanked by the Timbers Wednesday in Portland 2-0 and suffered a loss at home Saturday to cellar dwelling San Antonio, who earned their first road win.

4 (4) Harrisburg City Islanders (USL Pro) :: 9-3-1 :: An easy outing, downing Antigua 3-1 after Barracuda had played the night before.

5 (5) Charleston Battery (USL Pro) :: 7-3-4 :: It was a rough week on the road for Battery. It looked like they were about to earn a huge upset at Real Salt Lake Wednesday in the Open Cup before the hosts rallied to force overtime where the wheels came off in a 5-2 loss. The Battery then had a double dip on the road in league play, seeing a lead disappear again in Pittsburgh in a 1-1 draw Saturday and came from behind to tie Rochester Sunday by the same score.

6 (6) Richmond Kickers (USL Pro) :: 7-0-4 :: The Kickers cruised to a 4-0 win against the visiting winless Antigua Barracuda.

7 (7) Charlotte Eagles (USL Pro) :: 4-2-5 :: The Eagles picked up a 2-1 victory Friday at home, rallying to defeat the Chicago Fire Reserves.

8 (8) Dayton Dutch Lions (USL Pro) :: 5-2-3 :: In their lone match of the week Sunday, the Dutch Lions held on for the 2-1 win at home against VSI Tampa Bay.

9 (9) Minnesota United (NASL) :: 4-3-2 :: Idle.

10 (10) FC Edmonton (NASL) :: 2-3-5 :: Scored in the second half against league-leading Carolina but gave up a late equalizer in a 1-1 draw.

11 (13) Atlanta Silverbacks (NASL) :: 5-2-2 :: Jumped back into the league lead with a 90th minute penalty against Fort Lauderdale despite playing with 10 men.

12 (12) LA Blues (USL Pro) :: 5-5-5 :: They season sweep by the Galaxy Reserves by scoring in the 90th for a 1-1 draw at home Saturday.

13 (14) Wilmington Hammerheads (USL Pro) :: 4-8-1 :: Snared a narrow 1-0 victory over the visiting Red Bulls Reserves Saturday.

14 (16) San Antonio Scorpions (NASL) :: 3-4-2 :: Jumped out of last and showing some life with a big win on the road, 2-1, against Tampa Bay.

15 (17) Rochester Rhinos (USL Pro) :: 2-7-5 :: Starting to show some life, the Rhinos blanked visiting Tampa Bay 3-0 on Friday and then posted a 1-1 draw at home against the Charleston Battery.

16 (11) VSI Tampa Bay (USL Pro) :: 7-5-1 :: After a big win last week, the road brought them back to earth with a 3-0 loss in Rochester Friday and a 2-1 defeat in Dayton Sunday.

17 (15) Fort Lauderdale Strikers (NASL) :: 2-6-2 :: Nearly picked up a big result, but fell in the last minute to visiting Atlanta after a last-minute penalty.

18 (18) Pittsburgh Riverhounds (USL Pro) :: 3-4-6 :: In their lone match of the week the Riverhounds earn a 1-1 draw against the Charleston Battery.

19 (19) Phoenix FC (USL Pro) :: 2-9-4 :: For the second time this year Wolves played to a scoreless draw against the RSL Reserves, this time at home.

20 (20) Antigua Barracuda (USL Pro) :: 0-13-0 :: Antigua were fell easily in Richmond 4-0, but avoided a fourth straight shutout with their sixth goal of the year in a 3-1 loss at Harrisburg.
