It was a thrilling night of postseason action for the MCC and GSL Monday with a comeback win, a role reversal and a bicycle kick.
4A GSL - MCC Regional Playoffs
University 1-2 Central Valley
The Bears fell behind early in the second half but responded with their first two-goal game in four outings to advance from the opening game for the seventh consecutive year. The Bears will now travel to the Tri-Cities to face MCC champion Pasco on Wednesday. CV played Pasco twice in the postseason last year, winning 2-1 in the regional championship before falling in a shootout 3-2 in the third round of the state tournament.

Hanford 1-3 Chiawana
Jason Aragon put the Riverhawks on the board early in the first half and immediately after the Falcons tied things up on a header from Joseph Stout, he found Brad Nickolaus for the game-winner. Luis Lopez, though, capped the night's action with what may be the goal of the playoffs, connecting on a bicycle kick at the conclusion of the match. The Riverhawks will now head north to Spokane to play GSL champion Lewis & Clark Wednesday.

3A GSL - MCC Regional Playoffs
Shadle Park 5-0 Southridge
The Highlanders scored twice in their first eight league games. Then scored two in their finale for an upset win over Central Valley. The confidence is running rampant as they put four on the Suns in the first half en route to an easy playoff opening win, a complete reversal from the 5-0 Southridge victory in the same match a year ago. Devin McGowan scored twice in the win and Parker Krahn and Rhylan Hinder combined for the shutout. The Highlanders get a short trip to square off against Mt Spokane Wednesday. It comes exactly one week after Wildcats rallied for a 2-1 win last Wednesday at Joe Albi against Shadle.

Note: The leagues are combined solely to simplify everything into one list instead of four and not for league-to-league comparison due to varying games played and quality of competition. PARENTS... note that several games and details are missing (particularly in GNL/NEA/MCC). I do my best to request from coaches, but often without reply. Be sure to nudge your coach about making sure your teams are fully covered!!!
