Redemption Saturday proved to be just that for top seeds Mt Spokane and Richland as they avenged earlier playoff losses in winning the consolation matches to earn state berths into the 3A and 4A tournaments. In cross-over play-in contests the NEA duo of Lakeside and Freeman swept versus Caribou Trail League opposition in 1A play and the GNL's East Valley and Cheney split against the CWAC with the Knights moving onto the state tournament and the Blackhawks being knocked out in overtime.

## 4A / 3A PLAYOFFS ##
3A - Mt Spokane 1-0 Shadle Park :: In a game that proved to be just as tight as their first meeting in the postseason, the Wildcats edged the Highlanders on a goal at the hour mark when Amber Hickman received a throw-in from Sam Maher and drove into the area for the winning tally on a beautiful effort that found the far upper corner from the left side. Katelyn Pomerinke made a pair of big saves in the close contest among her seven for the match before exiting the contest with a neck injury sustained while attempting to stop a clearance around the 65th minute that required a medical response. Pomerinke is currently recovering from a mild concussion and compression to her neck and shoulders, but fortunately did not suffer any fractures on the play.
"Katelyn was amazing, making two huge saves that kept us in it," said head coach Donovan Hodson. "After the injury and seeing her taken in ambulance, it took the wind out of our sales. Our minds and hearts were with her and not in the game at all. Looked like we were just hanging on to keep it 0-1."

4A - University 1-4 Richland :: Lauren Chester drove up the left side after taking possession on a deflected ball and put the Titans on the board first, but Hayden Crowley and McKenna Martinez took over from there. Martinez scored four unanswered goals en route to the victory with Crowley setting up three of them. Crowley took the ball into the area from the left side at the half-hour mark and drove a cross into the middle where Martinez put it inside the right post with a diving effort off her knee. Martinez converted a penalty in the 55th and shortly thereafter the Bombers gained a player advantage when Gracen Crosby was sent off for a second yellow. Crowley would connect with Martinez twice in the final 10 minutes to put the match away.

## Northeast A League ##
1A - Freeman 1-0 Cashmere :: Just the way you want to start a match on the road, the Scotties got on the board three minutes in when Brynn Van Orden served a cross in from the right side, finding Delaney Lamotte. The sophomore slipped a shot through traffic into the left side of the goal for just her second tally of the campaign in league or playoff play. The contest was a fairly even match from there with the hosts getting a great look around the half-hour mark when a through ball put their striker one-on-one with Hannah Pylant, who came off her line hard and blocked the shot.
"It was a great win for the Freeman ladies," said head coach Dave Ellis. "Going on the road to face the number one seeded CTL team was a great challenge for the girls. As they work to recover from the various injuries they've dealt with this year, you can feel their confidence growing. They are playing with more confidence, and with a little bit of an edge. Very proud of their accomplishment of advancing to the state tournament."

GK - Hannah Pylant 15 saves; C: Elli Pheasant 12 saves
1A - Cascade 0-5 Lakeside :: A Maddie Hall goal put the Eagles up seven minutes in, but it was a goal and assist in the second half from Lexi Torok that put the match away. She tallied in the 55th and found Alyssa Conley in the 69th. Conley then turned provider two minutes later on the first of two goals from Jordyn Newman, who struck again in the 74th on a ball from goalkeeper Payton Williams, who registered her second shutout of the playoffs and 10th in league and postseason play this year.
