Wednesday's slate of remaining First Round state playoff matches did not go as well for local sides with Central Valley the lone team to advance to the second round, winning handily at Eastmont, who had finished third in the MCC but won the district playoff tournament. Richland fell in the other 4A contest at Puyallup and Mt Spokane was knocked out in a narrow one at Shorewood.
Central Valley won the regular season meeting against Gonzaga Prep, 2-1, with the Bullpups scoring late to spoil a shutout on Senior Night for the Bears. In the district final Gonzaga Prep kept its recent postseason success against the Bears going with a 3-0 victory courtesy of a hat-trick from Chelsea Le.
Also on Friday night is a fourth meeting between Deer Park and Lakeside. The Lady Stags have won all three meetings to this point. They rolled to a 3-0 victory on their home field over the Eagles in their first meeting in league play and ran away with another three-goal victory at Lakeside near the end of the regular season. The district final at Deer Park's football field, though, proved to be a lot closer with new coach Andrew Hackett in charge at Lakeside following the suspension of Chris Windham per an investigation. The Lady Stags, though, grabbed the narrow victory, 1-0, on a 74th minute goal and 11 saves from Madison Sellars. It was none other than Emmy Moore to Jessie Thomas for the winner.
## 4A / 3A PLAYOFFS ##
4A - Central Valley 5-2 Eastmont :: Kailyn LaBrosse scored the lone goal of the first half, heading in a corner from Dori Ames, and put the Bears up two in the second half when she found Sailor Watson in the 54th. Watson, who had just one goal and assist during the season (versus Rogers), scored back-to-back goals with a second tally just four minutes later that proved to be the game-winner with Jayden Brown scoring twice for the Wildcats on either side of a goal from Madylyn Simmelink. Marissa Bankey capped the contest with a free kick goal with a minute remaining.
