A recap of the matches midweek and Friday for the schools around the Inland Northwest and their conference foes...



Tuesday

Wednesday
WCC-M – Gonzaga 1 :: 4 Portland
Ricardo Carrillo (Prineville, OR) just could not be stopped by the Gonzaga defense, scoring two goals and setting up the other two en route to the conference opening victory. He netted the first from 12 yards just 27 seconds into the contest with the Zags answering from the penalty spot through Clark Phillips 12 minutes later. Carrillo helped restore the Pilots’ lead when he connected with Steven Evans in the 43rd minute and set up Jaime Velasco on the hour mark to push the lead to two. With seven minutes left he fired a rebound in from 21 yards. – MORE

FRON-W – Great Falls 0 :: 5 Carroll
The nationally-ranked Saints cruised to the easy conference victory, adding three goals onto a two-goal lead at intermission. Christa Saur (Boise, ID) scored twice in the match with the opener in the 27th minute and the fourth strike in the 63rd. Lexi Pyette (Great Falls, MT) scored the second goal in the 44th minute and set up Cassie Baldwin’s strike a minute into the second half. Kayla Bayer, who set up the second strike, finished the scoring with six minutes remaining. – MORE

With three minutes remaining a cross in from Kyle Emerick (Billings, MT) found was put away by Joshua Marocchi for the game-winner as Eoin Hurley made two saves for the shutout. – MORE  
GNAC-M – Northwest Nazarene 2 :: 1 Univ of Mary
The visiting Crusaders took the lead 21 minutes in through Jaime Torres with the Marauders evening it up five minutes later with a Ryan Buchholz header off a corner. Jon DiLulo (Boise, ID) found Chris Voth (Boise, ID) in the 62nd minute to give NNU the victory. – MORE

GNAC-W – MSU-Billings 2 :: 0 Simon Fraser
Despite having only one win, the host Canadians made things difficult for the perfect Yellowjackets, but a lapse in the 58th minute proved critical. Jaucelyn Richter (Billings, MT) scored the opener with a header on a free kick from Adrienne Biglow (Yakima, WA). A mere 10 seconds after the restart Heidi Greenback pushed the lead to two goals. – MORE

GNAC-W – Central Washington 2 :: 3 Saint Martin’s
After a scoreless first half, the hosts took a two-goal lead through Sasha Dini, who tallied from 20 yards out in the 47th and with the help of Kari Inch (Ephrata, WA), doubled the lead two minutes later. The Wildcats fought clawed their way back into the match with goals from Savanna Moorehouse in the 65th minute and Carson McKole in the 72nd. Dini, however, was the difference-maker on the day, delivering a corner in the 85th that was nodded in my Molly Campbell for the winner. – MORE

BIG SKY CONFERENCE – WOMEN
Montana 0 :: 2 Portland State
The Grizzlies suffered their first loss of the season on the road with Daniela Solis getting credit for the two goals. She struck from about 10 yards out in the 27th minute and delivered the corner kick in the 50th minute that resulted in a blocked shot and a follow-up clearance attempt that ricocheted in off the crossbar. – MORE 
Southern Utah 1 :: 2 Idaho State
Rachel Strawn, ISU
With two second left in regulation Rachel Strawn gave the Bengals their first conference win of the season, receiving the ball on the run from Madeline Gochnour and putting it in for the win. It was her second goal of the game after giving the team the lead in the 11th minute. The Thunderbirds tallied the equalizer in the 78th minute. – MORE 
Eastern Washington 1 :: 1 Sacramento State
The Eagles fell behind when Alyssa Anderson finished off a cross to the far post in the 26th minute. Despite being outshot 25-8 in the game Nathalie Schwery’s nine saves proved critical as Eastern held on, enabling Haley Stading to find Danielle Jonesin the box for the equalizer in the 80th minute. – MORE

WESTERN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – WOMEN
Idaho 1 :: 2 Texas State
Katie Baran (Spokane, WA) helped give the Vandals the lead in the 28th minute when she connected with Chelsea Small for the go-ahead goal, an 18-yard effort into the upper corner. Idaho dominated the rest of the contest and outshot the hosts 25-7 only to give away the win on two defensive mistakes in the final 10 minutes with Torie Hale scoring in the 81st and Lynsey Curry in the 84th. – MORE

Defender Courtney Irwin (Meridian, ID) helped lead the Aggies to a scoreless draw at home.

MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE – WOMEN
Boise State 0 :: 1 New Mexico
Despite all of the best efforts by the Broncos to find an equalizer, the 69th minute goal from Stephanie Rowe stood as the winner for the hosts in the conference opener.

PAC-12 CONFERENCE – WOMEN
Washington State 1 :: 2 Utah
Despite dominating the home side to the tune of a final 23-9 advantage in shots, the Cougars were unable to get on the board until Kayla Johnson’s through ball to Beau Bremer led to a six yard after she beat the keeper in the 82nd minute. Utah, however, answered back with Harley Spier heading in a free kick with about 90 seconds remaining to force overtime, where Katie Taylor ran onto a through ball and struck the winner from 15 yards out in the 98th minute. – MORE

CASCADE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE – WOMEN
Eastern Oregon 1 :: 3 Corban
The Mountaineers could not find an answer to stopping Audrey Sullivan as she set up the opening goal just over two minutes into the match by stealing the ball and finding Katelyn Weaver and went on to score two of her own. She doubled the lead in the 10th minute and added the third off a through ball from Weaver in the 64th. EOU’s Mauriana Gonzalez scored the side’s lone goal in the 57th off a free kick from Danielle Robinson.
College of Idaho 1 :: 2 Northwest Christian
The Beacons posted their first-ever victory over the visiting Coyotes on a goal and assist from Stevie Harrison. The College of Idaho took the initial lead through Katy Radko (Meridian, ID) in the ninth minute. Northwest Christian found the equalizer in the 33rd minute when Harrison’s through ball set up Nikki Webster (Coeur d’Alene, ID) for the finish. Build up from Mishayla Bertelsen and Katelyn Partridge put Harrison behind the last defender for the winner with seven minutes remaining.

CASCADE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE – MEN 
Oregon Tech 0 :: 2 Corban
The hosts got a pair of goals in a span of five minutes with Aaron Kinnes finding the first in the 54th and Derik Chaney (Helena, MT) delivering a cross in the 59th that connected with Arsinio Walker.
College of Idaho 4 :: 1 Northwest Christian
The hosts took the initial lead through Nathan Ruter in the 26th minute, but the Coyotes found a four-goal second half with strikes from four different players. Emilio Yomaha tied the match up six minutes into the second half with Joseph Bolin (Payette, ID) scoring in the 54th and Michael Meyer (Idaho Falls, ID) pushing it to a two-goal lead in the 57th. Chenjerai Simpson capped the road win in the 89th minute. – MORE
