The match was one of three shutouts on the day as Chiawana, second a year ago, rolled to a 3-0 win over Richland and Kennewick slipped past Richland with an overtime victory. Rounding out the slate was an easy win for new 4A side Hanford, which put four on the board before Walla Walla replied in a 4-1 result.
In non-league play, West Valley and East Valley of the 2A Great Northern League have been posting some great results, handing losses to the 3A contingent of the Greater Spokane League. West Valley is 3-0 with an aggregate tally of 7-1 against North Central, Shadle Park and Mt Spokane. East Valley put up 11 goals in two games, blasting Mt Spokane 6-0 and topping Shadle 5-2. They also dropped a narrow contest, 2-1, to 4A Ferris.
