INW College Recap - Week 3: Walla Walla CC shines as season nears for JC schools

As the preseason action winds down at the junior college level, Walla Walla CC is beginning to show its prowess in both the men's and women's programs with big victories on the week representing the NWAACC East. The CC Spokane men played their home opener Saturday in a 3-3 draw that was highlighted by a fantastic bicycle kick goal.

Sunday, September 8
NIC 2 :: 3 Laramie County CC
The Cardinals fell behind by two in the first 25 minutes of the contest before rallying in the second half with goals from Christian Butoli, a penalty, and Shane Stanley in the 56th and 62nd minutes. The hosts, however, claimed the win with 14 minutes left. MORE

Sunday, September 8
NIC 1 :: 3 Laramie County CC
The Cardinals found themselves on the wrong side of the same scoreline for the second consecutive day, though the opposition this time was ranked seventh in the nation. LCCC was not able to open the scoring until a handball led to a penalty late in the first half. Five minutes into the second half, however, NIC pulled even with Emilee Cordon this time being the provider, finding right back Jamie Gates, who launched a shot from outside the right side of the area over the keeper. LCCC, though pulled away with a pair of goals in the final 15 minutes. MORE
