Lower Division Updates 10.2.17: Whitworth and Eastern Oregon Women Still Unbeaten

Three weeks into one of their best conference starts in program history the Whitworth women are atop the Northwest Conference with a 5-0-1 mark. Facing regular powers in the conference, they played Puget Sound to a dramatic 2-2 draw on Saturday and then edged fellow unbeaten Pacific Lutheran Sunday in a top of the table clash, recording their fourth shutout in six games with a 1-0 decision for the top spot in the standings.

The Eastern Oregon ladies are also on top of the Cascade Conference table after four games, sweeping a pair of visiting Montana foes to move to 4-0-0 on the season. They beat Carroll 2-0 and Providence 3-2 in a back-and-forth thriller.

Outside of the region, Ryan Rydeen (Spokane, WA) and Megan Lowery (Hayden, ID / NIC) had outstanding performances for Minnesota State and the University of Mary, respectively.
