NWAC East Update 10.1.17: Walla Walla Men Top Columbia Basin, Blue Mountain Get First Win

In the marquee contest of the week between two of the top sides in the men's side, Walla Walla moved to 4-2-0 on the season by handing Columbia Basin their first loss in a 2-1 decision, keeping the now 5-1-0 Hawks in striking range of the Warriors and 4-1-0 Spokane. Meanwhile, at the bottom of the table the Blue Mountain men picked up their first win of the year with a victory over North Idaho.

All six games on the women's sides were one-sided affairs, but the highlight among them was Yakima Valley's first victory in divisional play against an opponent other than Blue Mountain. The Yaks were off to a great start with only two losses in five games, but aside from the 15-1 win over Blue Mountain the other three had been draws.
