INW College Recap - Week 6: GNAC & NWC - Whitworth & Whitman men, Central Washington women sweep

The Whitworth Pirates and Whitman Missionaries dominated their foes from George Fox and Pacific on the weekend by an aggregate 17-6 tally. Things did not go as well on the women's side as the Pirates dropped both contests and Whitman fell in the first to Pacific only to rebound for an upset win over 20th-ranked Linfield.

In the GNAC, it was the Central Washington women having the best outing among the three INW schools as they defeated the other two, Northwest Nazarene 4-1 and MSU-Billings 2-1 in overtime, for a sweep on the weekend.

George Fox 3 :: 5 Whitworth
In their conference home opener the Pirates took the initial lead when Andrew French beat a defender and delivered the ball to Sam Selisch in the 12th minute, but saw themselves fall behind by the 25th minute due to back-to-back goals from George Fox's Sawyer Meek. Whitworth, though, was up by two by the break with Zach Waldher (Whitefish, MT) scoring twice on either side of a goal from Sam Engle. A surprising red card to Pacific's Scott Manago knocked the Boxers off the rails, allowing Whitworth to control the rest of the contest. Will Wren put Whitworth in front in the 37th and French found Waldher for his second of the game in the 59th. Nathan Fosket's well-paced cross three minutes later forced an own goal that capped the game as both sides spent the rest of the contest utilizing reserve players. INWsn REPORT
