INW College Recap - Week 8: Frontier & Cascade - Rocky Mountain posts sweep over Jamestown

In the Cascade Conference, the Eastern Oregon women split on the weekend while the ladies from the College of Idaho dropped both matches at home. The Yotes did pick up a victory in the lone men's match however. Rocky Mountain were the lone winners in the Frontier as they swept a doubleheader with Jamestown, which had more success at Great Falls with a men's tie and women's win. The Westminster women also visited Montana, tying Carroll and beating Great Falls.

Oregon Tech 0 :: 3 College of Idaho
The Yotes took the lead when Joseph Bolin (Payette, ID) scored on a through ball from Tyler Lawton (Boise, ID), but did not secure the victory until Joao Cardoso scored on a one-time rip from 20 yards in the 80th. John Fronk (McCall, ID) capped the game in the 89th when he nodded in a Nicko Moreno  (Idaho Falls, ID) corner at the back post. Colin Benham-Marin (McCall, ID) need to make only one stop for the shutout as the Yotes outshot the visitors 19-5. MORE

Southern Oregon 3 :: 1 Eastern Oregon 
Danielle Robinson put the Mountaineers on the board seven minutes in on a corner from Sydney Nelson (Spokane, WA), but it was all Southern Oregon on the scoreboard after that. Julie Zamzow (Boise, ID) led the charge, scoring in the 21st minute and later capping the game with her second on a 25-yard effort in the 88th. MORE

Oregon Tech 1 :: 0 College of Idaho 
Melis Holmes-Joseph made six saves for the Yotes, but it was the rebound of a blocked shot on a corner in the seventh minute that the visitors scored off of for the win. MORE

Evergreen 0 :: 4 Corban
Tera McDonough helped lead the Warriors to the big win with a goal and assist, setting up the opener with a cross three minutes into the game and then scoring the finale in the 84th from 18 yards.

Saturday, October 12 

Southern Oregon 2 :: 1 College of Idaho 
The Raiders grabbed a two-goal lead on back-to-back strikes with Kendra Madares-Kelly (Boise, ID) making a quality run up the flank passed two defenders up the second. Katy Radko (Meridian, ID) delivered a through ball to Summer Jackson (Boise, ID) to cut the deficit in the 87th, but that was all the Yotes could find in the rally attempt. MORE

Oregon Tech 0 :: 1 Eastern Oregon 
The Mountaineers returned to the win column after being deadlocked for much of the contest when Katherine Hood scored off a cross from Shelby Tucker. Kailey Moss made four saves for the clean sheet. MORE

The two sides were deadlocked until Kayla Bayer put the Saints on the board in the 72nd minute on a ball from Kailey Edgar (Star, ID). Carroll, at home for the first time since September 2, looked headed to the win until Nicole Carter put away a corner from Natalie Johnson with two minutes left. The Saints were outshot 23-11 with goalkeeper Jamie Carter making 15 stops. MORE

U of Jamestown 0 :: 3 Rocky Mountain 
The Battlin' Bears found goals from Alex Harvey, Sam Houle and Evelina Aberg, who also tallied an assist on the day while goalkeepers Malin Johansson and Missy Schultz shared the shutout. MORE

Westminster 2 :: 0 Great Falls 
Abi Yanke (Boise, ID) made three saves, giving her eight for the weekend, for the shutout as the Griffins outshot the hosts 12-5. MORE

Sunday, October 13

U of Jamestown 2 :: 1 Great Falls 
The visitors took the lead in the 24th minute but Danielle DeLaVina pulled the Argos even three minutes before the break, beating several defenders and finishing from 10 yards. The Jimmies, however, tallied the lone strike in the second half for the win. MORE
