INW College Recap - Week 9: Frontier & Cascade - Rocky Mountain women post a road sweep

The Rocky Mountain women had a good week on the road, handing Carroll the program's first defeat at home in two years before heading to Utah for a win at Westminster. The Eastern Oregon women, meanwhile, earned a split on the road and almost came away with a draw against unbeaten Northwest University only to see it slip away in the final minutes.

Tuesday, October 15 

Concordia 2 :: 1 College of Idaho
The Yotes fell behind in the eighth minute but answered less than a minute later when Nicko Moreno (Idaho Falls, ID) and Sydney Donaldson combined to find Cristian Sanchez (Treasure Valley CC) to make things even. Concordia, however, would net the winner in the 41st. MORE

Saturday, October 19 

College of Idaho 2 :: 0 Oregon Tech
The Yotes bounced back from the midweek loss with a road win at Oregon Tech. Cristian Sanchez (Treasure Valley CC) scored his second of the week when he nodded in a corner from Joao Cardoso in the 32nd minute. Cardoso would also connect with Joseph Bolin (Payette, ID) to add some insurance in the 57th. Colin Benham-Marin (McCall, ID) made eight saves for the shutout, including stopping a penalty in the 38th minute. MORE

Corban 2 :: 1 Northwest Christian
The long throw of James Williamson (Coeur d'Alene, ID) set up the opening goal for Corban three minutes into the contest and Eliseo Santana (Idaho Falls, ID / North Idaho College) set up the winner in the winner in the 88th minute.

College of Idaho 1 :: 7 Northwest U
The Yotes fell behind six minutes into the contest and Sarah Hicks (Boise, ID) put things level in the 33rd on a ball from Summer Jackson (Boise, ID). Less than three minutes later, however, the hosts reclaimed the lead via Rachel Saleen (Boise, ID) less than three minutes later as they scored two in a three minute span before pulling away with four in the second half. Eastern Oregon 4 :: 0 Evergreen
Sydney Nelson (Spokane, WA) and Mauriana Gonzalez led the Mountaineers to the easy road win. Nelson scored the opener in the 13th minute and Tori Fedora set up Gonzalez for the second in the 22nd minute. Gonzalez would add another in the 58th on a ball from Nelson, who found the head of Carolyn Danek (Spokane, WA) four minutes later on a corner to finish the scoring. MORE

Concordia 2 :: 1 Southern Oregon
Julie Zamzow (Boise, ID) opened the scoring to put the Raiders up at home, but it was not enough as the Cavaliers pulled even on a free kick in the 28th and grabbed the winner in the 73rd courtesy of Erin Huisingh (Pasco, WA)

Warner Pacific 0 :: 2 Oregon Tech 
Kayla Campbell (Boise, ID) set up both goals by Rebekah Nisbet in the contest as they tallied in the 27th and 39th.

Saturday, October 19 

College of Idaho 1 :: 2 Evergreen
The hosts grabbed the lead just after the half-hour mark and doubled the advantage in the 81st before the Yotes found a quick close-range answer from Summer Jackson (Boise, ID) on a ball from Camas Curran (Meridian, ID) less than a minute later. MORE

Eastern Oregon 1 :: 2 Northwest U
Rachel Saleen (Boise, ID) and Acacia Johnson combined with one another for a goal each with Saleen netting the opener a half-hour in and returning the favor by setting up Johnson for the winner in the 88th. Sydney Nelson (Spokane, WA) found the head of Danielle Robinson four yards out for the Mountaineers in the 64th.

Warner Pacific 0 :: 4 Southern Oregon
Julie Zamzow (Boise, ID) kicked off the scoring less than three minutes into the contest as they rolled to the victory.

Concordia 9 :: 0 Oregon Tech 
The Cavaliers dominated from the start with Erin Huisingh (Pasco, WA) setting up the second goal in the 13th minute less than a minute after the opener. She went on to score the seventh goal, assisted by Mackenna Morton (Yakima, WA) while Ashley Ames (Liberty Lake, WA) scored the fourth, set up by Samantha Johnson (Hailey, ID) and fifth goals. Maddie Aldrich (Spokane, WA) set up the sixth and McKayla Madison (Bend, OR) scored the eighth.

Chris Jermy set up Tanner Wolf (Billings, MT) 23 minutes into the match and the Griffins tied it up from the spot in the 57th minute. It only took Oliver Gore converted a penalty less than a minute into overtime for the win. MORE

Luis Torres was the star of the day, scoring the opener 10 minutes in on a ball from Alex Mendez (Bonners Ferry, ID) and then setting up Danny Delgadillo for the second in the 28th. Andy Sandoval found Torres for his second goal just over three minutes into the second half. MORE
