College Notebook 9.2.18

Round-Up of Saturday's action...

Women's Scores & Notes

Adams State 3-4 Northwest Nazarene :: Madie Taylor (Lewiston, ID / Treasure Valley CC) scored five minutes in and Maddy Parton (Leavenworth, WA) made it two 10 minutes later, but the Grizzlies answered with one on either side of the break to even it up. Kaisa Tsuruta set up a second goal on the day in the 55th when Chandler Kauffman tallied and after another ASU equalizer she scored one of her own in the 64th for the game-winner.

Central Washington 1-3 Stanislaus State :: After a scoreless first half the hosts grabbed the initial lead before Jordan Engman and Lexsi Manning combined to feed Madison Bradley for the equalizer. Stanislaus, though, would answer five minutes later and add some insurance for the win.

MSU Billings 2-0 Wayne State College :: A 25-yard free kick in the 25th minute from Alexa Iacolucci put the Yellowjackets on the board. They added some insurance in the 81st when Amanda Grimshaw hit from even further out. LIli Delgadillo made four saves for the shutout.

Providence 4-1 Mid-America Christian :: Eme McLaughlin (Great Falls, MT) set up Alexis Cavalier in the eighth minute before scoring two of her own back-to-back in the 39th and 40th minutes. Malena Lennon, who set up the second goal, tallied her own in the 66th.

Briar Cliff 1-4 :: Rocky Mountain :: Rita Marshall found Shasta Grant for the opener in the 30th minute. In the second half Emily Browne pushed the lead to two in the 76th and Marshall hit Lauryn Gamache two minutes later for a three-goal advantage. Another two minutes later Mhari Smith made it four.

Whitworth 0-4 Messiah :: The fifth-ranked hosts scored twice in each half.

Idaho State 0-10 BYU :: The Bengals gave up four in the first half as they suffered

Concordia 1-1 Sonoma State :: Michaela Prothe (Spokane, WA) scored the opening goal for the Cavaliers in the 49th minute in the 1-1 draw against the 25th ranked side.

Carroll (Wisconsin) 2-2 Lewis & Clark :: Ella Viesturs (Sun Valley, ID) cut a two-goal deficit in half in the 27th and later set up the equalizer in the 72nd minute for the draw.

Northwest University 1-2 Linfield :: Amidee Colleknon (Bend, OR) scored the opener in the 25th minute for the Wildcats.

Oklahoma Baptist 0-3 Minot State :: Haley Berryman (Ephrata, WA / Walla Walla CC) scored the second goal in the 24th minute.

Men's Scores & Notes

Eastern Oregon 1-1 Embry-Riddle :: The Mountaineers got on the board first with a goal by Elvis Pavon on a ball from Jack Rose in the 52nd minute. The hosts woudl even it up in the 69th as the two finished even.

Westminster College 3-1 Northwest Nazarene :: Trailing since the 24th minute, Jose Labanino-Ramos tied the match up for the Nighthawks in the 58th. The Griffins went back in front five minutes later and Alec Marshall (Bozeman, MT) added some insurance in the 86th.

Providence 1-2 Mid-America Christian :: The Argos gave up two goals in the opening 15 minutes before George Holloway put them on the board early in the second half. That was all they could muster in the tight affair that saw just eight combined shots.

Briar Cliff 1-2 Rocky Mountain :: Marco Kummerle set up Tulio Melo five minutes before the break only to see the visitors erase the lead a minute later. He later set up the winner as well, finding Gregor Watson in the 79th.

Whitworth 0-3 Messiah :: Facing the number one team in the country, the Pirates went well over an hour deadlocked at zeros before the hosts broke open the scoring.

Hope International 3-2 Oregon Tech :: Brennan Gazdik (Boise, ID) set up Lodewijk Bloemzaad for the opener just 76 seconds into the contest. Sixteen minutes later Bloemzaad turned helper, finding Cade Roske (Pocatello, ID / North Idaho College). The visitors, though, scored three unanswered in the second half.

Pacific Lutheran 2-0 Milwaukee School of Engineering :: Chris Trussel (Wenatchee, WA) scored just 42 seconds into the contest for the Lutes.
