NWAC East Tonight 9.2.18: Preseason Action Continues

The sides from the East Division continued their series of non-league games, most of them still on the west side, though the holiday weekend as they prepare for the quickly approaching campaign.

MEN

Friday, August 31

Walla Walla 1-2 Pierce :: Edwin Romero (Walla Walla, WA) scored for the Warriors via Freddy Rodriguez (Hermiston, OR), but the hosts tallied the winner in the second half.

Saturday, September 1

North Idaho 0-4 Tacoma :: The Cardinals gave up a pair of goals in each half.

Treasure Valley 0-1 Lane :: The Titans scored the deciding goal in the second half.

Sunday, September 2

North Idaho 0-1 Peninsula :: The two were locked in a stalemate until the hosts broke through in the 74th minute with the winner.

Treasure Valley 0-5 Chemeketa :: The Chukars kept the hosts at bay for nearly the first half before allowing the opener a minute before the intermission. The second half, though, was not as successful.


WOMEN

Friday, August 31

Walla Walla 2-0 Pierce :: Taylen Wohl scored twice with Demeree McLean (Meridian, ID) setting up the second. Danielle Dowd (Rathdrum, ID) made four saves for the shutout.

Saturday, September 1

North Idaho 2-2 Tacoma :: Autumn Stewart (Spokane, WA) and Linnea Pretzer (Idaho Falls, ID) scored for the Cardinals in the draw with Ellory Ferris (Ellensburg, WA) accounting for an assist.

Spokane 0-2 Peninsula :: The Pirates bounced back from a tough Starfire Friendlies event with the win over the Bigfoot on a pair of first half goals.

Treasure Valley 0-7 Lane :: The hosts cruised to the win with five goals in the first half.

Sunday, September 2 

North Idaho 1-2 Peninsula :: The Pirates picked up another win over the NWAC East with a goal in the first half and the winning in the 68th. Cindy Bauwens (Boise, ID) would put the Cardinals on the board in the 80th, but they were unable to find a second.

Treasure Valley 1-5 Lower Columbia :: The hosts tallied three in the first half before Elexus Nochebuena (Blackfoot, ID) put the Chukars on the board int eh 34th.

Spokane 0-4 Cerritos College :: In a friendly against the nation's fourth-ranked side, the Bigfoot gave up four in the first half before things settled down against a program that has won four of the last six national championships.
