INW Collegiate Friday Night Recap: Big results for Idaho schools, Zags

A recap of action for schools and their conferences around the Inland Northwest on Friday. The round-up is highlighted by some surprise results posted by the Idaho State and College of Idaho women's teams, a historic victory for the University of Idaho women and a big win from the Gonzaga men.

BIG SKY CONFERENCE

WOMEN
Idaho State 1 :: 1 Montana
Rachel Strawn took advantage of a turnover in the 58th minute of the contest to find the upper right corner of the goal for the visiting Bengals who thought they were going to have an upset win on the road. Erin Craig (Great Falls, MT), however made a great chested turn with the ball in the box on a throw-in and created an opportunity that resulted in the ball popping out to the far side of the six to a wide open Paytyn Wheeeler, who put the ball into the open net with less than two minutes left to play. The Grizzlies dominated 17-8 in shots with the Bengal’s lone goal being the only one on target for visitors. While Kristen Hoon had no saves, Sheridan Hapsic had six at the other end. - MORE
