HS Daily - 9.17.17: Richland rolls to 4-0 with rout of Chiawana

In Saturday's league play, Hanford and Richland both picked up wins to remain unbeaten in the Mid-Columbia Conference. For Hanford it was just their second, but the Bombers' victory put them top of the table at 4-0.

Round-up of the action for September 15-16

Mid-Columbia Conference

9/16 - Southridge 0-2 Hanford
Emily Sondag and Dani Mendoza scored to give the hosts the victory, moving them to 2-0 on the season.


9/16 - Chiawana 1-5 Richland
Ashley Tonthat scored the first and then fellow freshman McKenna Martinez scored the first of her three goals on the night as the Bombers ran away with the victory. Gabrielle Fillimore also tallied in the win.

Non-League

9/15 - Ferris 2-1 University
Yacine Bitibale scored 16 minutes in for the Saxons, and after the Titans equalized in the 22nd through Kendall Bastine she struck again at the half-hour mark with what held to be the winner.

9/15 - (ID) Coeur d'Alene 0-5 Central Valley (4A)
Five different players scored for the Bears in the border battle. Maggie Ames and Marissa Orrino struck in the first half with Megan Robertson, Kailyn LaBrosse and Kaelyn Barnes scoring in the second half, the final tally being set up by Robertson.

9/16 - (4A) Eastmont 2-1 North Central (3A)
The Indians opened the scoring a minute before the break when Haylee Belarde found Mackenzie Letsch for the go-ahead goal. Carissa Miller put the visitors level in the 54th and Emma Simpson gave them the win in the 62nd.

9/16 - (4A) West Valley 0-0 Gonzaga Prep (4A)
Elliot made four saves for the Bullpups in the scoreless stalemate while Lee made seven at the other end for the visitors out of the Big Nine.

9/16 - (3A) Shadle Park 0-5 Cheney (2A)
Kaitlin Teeters set up the first three Blackhawks goals, finding Mackenzie Huotari in the 34th and then Kailey Estrellado and freshman Makenna Benson in the 56th and 58th. Megan Little tallied the fourth and Benson added her second to cap the game. Melissa Aris got the shutout.


9/16 - (3A) Rogers 1-10 Medical Lake (2A)
Makayla Geiger opened the scoring in the second minute on a ball from Nicole Weatherall, and the did not stop there. Geiger would go on to finish with five goals and three assists and Weatherall two goals and two assists. Jaxyn Farmen had a goal and two assists and Mercedes Kindell and Lilli Havens added scores. Freshman Raven Meshell scored the lone Rogers goal late in the contest.

9/16 - (ID) Lakeland 3-1 Colville (1A)
Sofie Schnets scored in the 59th and 61st for a commanding lead with Higbee adding another in the 67th. Kirsten Stickney tallied with four minutes left for Colville.
