INW HS Best XI - Week 2: Plenty of goals leads to list full of strikers

One-sided non-league games with opponents from different classifications is not a surprise, but the opening day of the Mid-Columbia Conference also featured blowout scorelines, leading to a rare INWsn Best XI filled with forwards and midfielders.

For games through Saturday, September 9 (*does not include Monday's games)


M - Tia Frahm (Mead, Sr) - Set up the opening goal and then scored three in the match as Mead beat Decatur 5-1 on the road.

M - Camryn Gardner (Lewis & Clark, Jr) - Scored twice in a 10-0 win at Tahoma and the opening goal in a 3-2 shootout win at Fife.

M - Chelsea Le (Gonzaga Prep, So) - Scored both goals in a 2-1 win at West Valley.

M/F - Lelie Holland (Cheney, Sr) - Scored once in each half of the 9-0 win against Medical Lake

M - Aaliyah Valladares (Kamiakin, Sr) - Scored three goals in a 9-1 victory at Pasco.


PLAYER OF THE WEEK - F - Ruthie Edrington (Chiawana, So) - Scored twice in a 4-0 win at Southridge, the defending regular season league champions.

F - McKenna Martinez (Richland, Fr) - Tallied two goals and an assist in an 8-1 win at Kennewick.

F - Carolyn Moravec (Lewis & Clark, Jr) - Set up both goals in a 3-2 shootout victory on the road against Fife.

F - Lorena Ramirez (Walla Walla, Jr) - Scored four in the Blue Devils' 10-0 win at Adna.

F - Ashley Tonthat (Richland, Fr) - Struck for three goals and set up another in an 8-1 win at Kennewick.

F - Brynn VanOrden (Freeman, Jr) - Tallied a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win against St George's.
