As the final week of preseason wrapped up for the Greater Spokane League and the second week of Northeast A League action unfolded, Zoe Crockett and Abbi McLellan jumped into the spotlight to garner INWsn Player of the Week honors.
Crockett absolutely dominated play for the Central Valley Bears in three contests on the week and McLellan played a crucial role as one-loss Lakeside faced fellow power and unbeaten Freeman in a fight to stay in the mix for the NEA title race [yes, just two weeks into the season] with also unbeaten Deer Park.

G - Peyton Dixon (Gonzaga Prep, Jr) - Had four crucial saves against West Valley to hold them scoreless before the Bullpups finally broke through in the second half en route to a 3-0 non-league victory against the Eagles.
G - Bailey Cook (Lewis & Clark, Sr) - Made four saves in a 1-0 shutout against North Central and four more in a 3-1 win against Ferris in non-league play.
D - Keagan Austin (Gonzaga Prep, So) - The centerback helped shut out West Valley in a match that was a stalemate well into the second half as they went on to post 3-0 non-league win for third shutout in five games.
D - Natalie Wenner (Lewis & Clark, So) - Outside back scored the lone goal in the Tigers' 1-0 non-league win over North Central and helped lead team as they allowed just one goal on the week, posting a 3-1 non-league win against Ferris as well.
D/M - Romona Robinson (Ridgeline, Jr) - Helped lead team to 5-0 non-league shutout win against East Valley with several crucial defensive interventions
M - Sofia Alfaro (Lewis & Clark, So) - Assisted on the lone goal in 1-0 non-league win over North Central and later tallied a goal and an assist in 3-1 non-league win over Ferris.
M - Abby Jay (Central Valley, Jr) - Pair of goals in a 3-1 win at Mead.
M/F - Natalie Thompson (Ridgeline, Fr) - Led the way with a pair of assists on the opening two goals in a 5-0 win against East Valley and then tallied the game-winner in a 2-1 win at Pullman in non-league play.
M/F - Emily Todd (North Central, Jr) - Involved in all four goals in a 4-3 non-league win against Freeman, setting up the first and then scoring the next three.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK :: F - Zoe Crockett (Central Valley, Sr) - Was involved in all seven goals on the week in non-league play. Started the week off with a goal and two assists in a 3-1 win against Mead and followed it up with both goals in a 2-1 win at Mt Spokane to give the Bears a sweep of the northside schools. She made it four consecutive goals with two more in a 2-0 victory against Couer d'Alene on Saturday.
F - Caylee Kerr (Gonzaga Prep, So) - Set up the opening goal to break deadlock versus West Valley and then tallied the second in the 3-0 win.
BEST XI 2A/1A
G - Erika Pickett (Clarkston, Sr) - Made 13 saves in 2-1 road win against Ferris and another 17 in a 3-1 victory against University in pair of non-league contests.
G - McKinlee Grote (Shadle Park, Jr) - Made 14 saves in a 1-1 contest at University that the Highlanders won in a shootout.
D - Madison Carr (West Valley, Sr) - Dangerous coming forward on throws and set pieces, she helped lead the Eagles to a 2-0 win against Ferris with the second goal. She also helped lead the backline that stymied Gonzaga Prep well into the second half before a pair of deflection / loose ball goals and a penalty resulted in a heartbreaking 3-0 loss.
D/F - Ella Carnahan (Deer Park, Jr) - Playing dual roles, she tallied three goals and an assist in 14-0 win at Riverside and the opening two goals along with two assists in 8-0 win against East Valley.
M - Livvy Moore (Deer Park, Sr) - Four goals and four assists in 14-0 win at Riverside and two goals and two assists in 8-0 win against East Valley.
M - Sienna Newhouse (Clarkston, So) - Scored the game-winner for Clarkston in a 3-1 non-league win against University.
M - Joanna Schnatterle (Clarkston, Sr) - Tallied the opening goals in two non-league victories as the Bantams downed Ferris 2-1 on the road and University 3-1.
M - Makayla Werner (Freeman, Jr) - Two goals and an assist against NC, one goal and two assists against St. Georges, one assist against Lakeside.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK :: F - Abbi McLellan (Lakeside, Sr) - Started the week off with a four goal, two assist performance in 11-0 win against Medical Lake and then followed it up in a key powerhouse clash with Freeman by scoring the first two goals en route to a 3-1 win.
F - Janis Oliver (East Valley, Sr) - Tallied four goals and an assist in 15-0 win against Rogers.
F - Lani Walker (West Valley, Sr) - Set up both goals for the Eagles in a 2-0 non-league win against Ferris.
