HS Round-Up 9.29: Cheney Stuns Again; Tigers & Titans Snag 1-0 Overtime Wins

If you thought the season last spring was odd... well, then this season is just outright crazy. After a series of subpar non-conference results and a season-opening loss to Mt Spokane it looked like Cheney could be written off. But Wait!

After allowing two first half goals Wednesday to perennial power Central Valley, they shut down the Bears to rally for a shootout win and tonight shutout Gonzaga Prep to earn a regulation win.

And if that were not enough for you, the Ferris Saxons were coming off a good win against Lewis & Clark only to fall 1-0 in overtime today to a winless University that went from a blowout loss to Mt Spokane in the opener to a shootout loss last week to Prep and now an overtime win.

And in the other overtime affair LC shut down a Mead squad that came out flying from their quarantine on Tuesday.

Looks like the only constant will be Zoe Crockett scoring two goals as she did so for the fifth consecutive game overall (three in GSL), also maintaining a seven-game goal scoring streak.

Winning the GSL this year... Not. Gonna. Be. Easy!

Central Valley 5-0 North Central

A controversial opening goal off a hand ball gave the Bears the initial lead, but they were in full control of the contest throughout. Zoe Crockett found Avery Bringhurst to make it two and then tallied two nice goals of her own as they rolled to the win.
