Tuesday was a big night as it was the start of the Northeast A League and featured quite a few non-league fixtures for the rest of the area schools.
From the outset it appears that not much has changed with a class graduated from the NEA rosters as duo of Deer Park and Freeman opened with double-digit shutout victories... both away from home. Riverside, though, looks to be making a move to join the power trio of Deer Park, Freeman and Lakeside, which was idle on the night.

Outmatched by one of the league favorites the plucky Knights did not make it as easy of a contest as the final score indicated. Field player turned keeper Hannah Rasmussen made some nice stops in the contest as she prepares for a season in goal for East Valley.

A loose ball 20 minutes in was corralled and fired home from the top of the box by Ayden Wells, but the Highlanders would keep the Panthers at bay for the rest of the half. Wells, though, struck again to double the lead when Reese Walker drove endline before finding her alone in the box. Shadle found some late hope with five minutes left when a shot from outside slipped through the hands of a surprised Mia Spier, but the Panthers dashed those hopes just a minute later when Grace Howard tucked away a cross from Haylie Egan.

In stark contrast to the night before, the Bullpups had a much more difficult time as they faced a fellow contender in a non-league affair. A lofted ball in from the right flank by Sammy Symmes broke the deadlock when it slipped through the outstretched arms of the Wildcat keeper. A late scramble in front of goal saw her tally the second two minutes from time off of a rebounded save.
