The Cougars fell two goals behind in the first 21 minutes before making a surprise rally against the second-ranked Cardinal. Micaela Castain received a cross from Bethanie Skelton in the 25th minute, turning and firing inside the box to cut the deficit in half. Six minutes before the break things were back to even when Zoe Jeffers one-timed a cross from Kourtney Guetlein. The Cougars nearly picked up the upset, but were denied by several outstanding saves from Emily Oliver in the second half while Mariah Nogueira headed in the winner in the 62nd minute. – MORE

For the second time on the weekend the Cougars fell behind, giving up a goal five seconds into the match through Emi Lawson. Washington State rallied back once again as well, finding the equalizer in the 26th via Nicole Setterlund, who scored put away a ball on a scramble in the box off a free kick. Five minutes into the second half the Cougars took the lead against the 18th-ranked Golden Bears when Korynn Blanksma (Wenatchee, WA) headed in a cross from Jocelyn Jeffers. Cal proved too much though as Ifeoma Onumonu, who started the play on the opener, scored twice in three minutes for the hosts. – MORE
