Week 9 Collegiate INW Best XI – Men & Women

Goalkeepers did well again this week, but picking up the Player of the Week honors was a defender who scored from midfield and a striker that dominated on the road. For games through Sunday, October 14.

INLAND NW SOCCER NEWS BEST XI - WOMEN

G – Maddy McDevitt (Edmonds, WA) Boise State :: Picked up a pair of 1-0 shutout wins on the road, making three saves at Air Force and four more in an overtime decision against Wyoming.  

M – Brianna Strodtbeck (Boise, ID) College of Idaho :: Two assists in 4-1 victory against Warner Pacific.

M – Kirsty Montignani (Dunfermline, Scotland) Rocky Mountain :: Scored a late equalizer with three minutes left at Westminster for a 2-2 draw on a 30-yard free kick.

M – Kat Tsoukalas (Spokane, WA) CC Spokane :: Three goals and an assist in a pair of wins against Columbia Basin and Bellevue. 

F - Heidi Greenback (Woodinville, WA) MSU-Billings :: Scored both goals in the first half for a 2-0 win at Central Washington.

F – Megan Lindsay (Spokane, WA) Seattle Pacific
:: Set up what proved to be the game-winner in a 4-1 victory against Northwest Nazarene and scored the final goal in a 3-0 win against fellow top-three side MSU-Billings.

F – Lauren Luke (Mukilteo, WA) Gonzaga :: Scored the equalizer in the 82nd minute to give the Bulldogs their first-ever point against Portland with 1-1 draw.  

Erin Craig, Montana
F - Brandi Vega (Carson City, NV) Washington State :: Tallied a goal and assist in 4-0 victory against USC.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK :: F – Erin Craig (Great Falls, MT) Montana :: Two goals and an assist in 4-0 victory at Eastern Washington. She scored the first on a scramble created by her initial saved shot then set up the second with a perfect delivery on a corner. She stole the ball early in the second half and drove into the box for a long shot to put the game out of reach.

F – Amanda Ellsworth (Roseville, CA) Idaho State :: Scored both goals in a 2-1 comeback win at Sacramento State, knocking in a loose ball for the equalizer and converting a penalty for the win.

F – Tasha Luu (Colville, WA) CC Spokane :: Three goals and two assists in a pair of victories against Columbia Basin and Bellevue.

INLAND NW SOCCER NEWS BEST XI - MEN

G – Joe Galbraith (Whitefish, MT) Northwest University :: Posted 12 saves to register shutout in 1-0 victory against Warner Pacific.

G – Kyle Novak (Eugene, OR) Whitworth :: Only had to make one save in the scoreless draw at Puget Sound, but made six in the 1-0 win at Pacific Lutheran.

G – Alfredo Ontiveros (La Puente, CA) Northwest Nazarene :: Four saves in a showdown of top three teams as they played to a scoreless draw versus Seattle Pacific after making five saves in a 2-1 overtime win against Saint Martin’s.

D – Balin Larson (Seattle, WA) Whitworth :: Helped lead the Pirates to shutout performances on the road against the other two top teams in the league, earning a scoreless draw at Puget Sound and a 1-0 win versus Pacific Lutheran.  

Travis Hill, CC Spokane
D – Jack Morgan (Bellingham, WA) Whitman :: Also led team offensively as a leading shot taker in 1-0 overtime loss at Pacific Lutheran in which they played a man down for 20+ minutes, then helped lead the team to a scoreless draw at Puget Sound.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK :: D – Travis Hill (Spokane, WA) CC Spokane :: Scored the opening goal from midfield striped against Bellevue and helped lead the back four with two excellent performances at centerback for a 1-0 win against Columbia Basin and 3-0 win against Bellevue.

M - Ryan Holmes (Boise, ID) Westminster :: Set up the winning goal in the 68th minute of a 1-0 victory against Rocky Mountain.

M – Thomas Chameraud (Poitiers, France) MSU-Billings :: Two goals in 3-1 victory against Saint Martin’s.

F – John DiLulu (Boise, ID) Northwest Nazarene :: Scored the opening goal in a 2-1 overtime victory against Saint Martin’s.

F – Thomas Sheets (Everett, WA) MSU-Billings :: Goal and assist in 3-1 victory over Saint Martin’s.

F- Isaac Peter (Spokane, WA) CC Spokane :: Scored a goal in each game as they defeated Columbia Basin 1-0 and Bellevue 3-0.
