INW Collegiate Recap - WCC & Pac-12: GU ladies alter history with Portland; WSU drubs USC

Though they did not get a win this weekend, the Gonzaga women made a little history, registering their first-ever point against Portland after losing all 20 previous contests between the two sides. The men, meanwhile, fell at home to Saint Mary's on narrowly on the road to Santa Clara. Washington State dominated USC, 4-0, to remain in the top half of the conference table.

Trailing from a late first half goal, Sofia Huerta (Boise, ID) evened the match for Santa Clara in the 74th only to see Pepperdine claim the win in the 82nd.

Conner Bevans, Gonzaga
A goal-line clearance by a Santa Clara defender denied Conner Bevans from giving the Zags the lead in the seventh minute. From that point, the Bulldog defense kept the league-leaders at bay for over an hour before allowing the lone goal, a 67th minute strike, in a close-fought contest. – MORE
