The Whitworth ladies are still unbeaten after seven, posting their fifth shutout in conference play in a 1-0 victory against rival Whitman to move to 6-0-1. The defense has allowed just three goals against their conference opposition thus far with this Saturday's contest at Linfield being the final match of the first half of the season.
The Pirates held the better of play in the first half and finally got on the board in the 41st when Courtney Potter and Sarah Cool combined to set up a nice effort from about 22 yards on the right side that Michele Whan put past Allie Seracuse, who made several nice stops on the day to keep Whitworth from growing the lead.
At the other end, the Whitworth defense did enough to disrupt Whitman's push to find an equalizer and Molly Webster finished out the game with four saves for the clean sheet.
