INW Best XI - Week 8: Bevans & Fisher lead Bulldogs and Bigfoot to big victories

Each week INWsoccernews will release lists of the week’s best performances for men’s and women’s soccer in the region, recognizing players at schools in the region or those from the area that play elsewhere in the nation.

For games of October 7-13

BEST OF THE INLAND NORTHWEST XI - MEN

G - Derek Carver - Walla Walla CC :: Made six saves against nationally-ranked Dakota County in a 1-0 victory at neutral site North Idaho College. (Menlo Park, CA)

Conner Bevans
G - Timmy Costa - Whitworth :: The freshman keeper made his first start and stopped 10 shots in a 2-1 win as they were outshot 22-5. (San Jose, CA)

G - Ulisses Faurrieta - Walla Walla CC :: Made five saves in a 1-0 victory at Spokane. (Redmond, OR)

G - Ryan Foo - Northwest Nazarene :: Made eight saves in a scoreless draw at MSU-Billings. (San Jose, CA)

D - Everardo Bartolo (Blackfoot, ID) - Treasure Valley :: Scored two goals and added an assist in a 4-2 victory over visiting Spokane.

D - Daniel Varns - Whitman :: Trailing by one, Varns scored two consecutive to put the Missionaries in front en route to a 3-2 victory. (Bloomington, IN)

M - Erik Ruiz - Columbia Basin :: Scored the first two goals as the Hawks rolled to a 4-1 victory over Treasure Valley and helped lead the team to a scoreless draw at Wenatchee Valley. (Boardman, WA)

INW MEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK :: F - Conner Bevans - Gonzaga :: Registered a game-winner and an assist in the 2-1 victory over Loyola Marymount Friday and then set up the second equalizer in a 3-3 draw against San Diego Sunday. (La Habra Heights, CA)

F - Oliver Gore - Rocky Mountain :: Registered a goal and set up the game-winner in a 2-1 victory against Jamestown. (Stafford, England)

F - Mario Guizar - Walla Walla CC :: Made a fantastic individual play to create and score the lone goal in a 1-0 win at Spokane. (Kennewick, WA)

F - Clark Phillips - Gonzaga :: Scored twice, tallying the second equalizer and the go-ahead goal in a 3-3 draw against San Diego. (Portland, OR)


BEST OF THE INLAND NORTHWEST XI - WOMEN
Maddie Frey

G - Abi Yanke (Boise, ID) - Westminster :: Made eight saves total and allowed just one goal on the road against conference foes, getting a 1-1 draw at Carroll and a 2-0 victory at Great Falls.

D - Tarah Duty - Central Washington :: Scored the lone goal in the 1-0 victory over Seattle Pacific and helped lead the team to the 4-1 win against Simon Fraser. (Black Diamond, WA)

M - Maddie Frey (Kalispell, MT) - Montana :: Scored twice in the second half to help lead the Grizzlies to a 3-0 victory at North Dakota.

M - Savanna Moorehouse - Central Washington :: Scored twice and added an assist in a 4-1 win against Simon Fraser. (Bonney Lake, WA)
Rashelle Fisher

M - Cara Wegner - Washington State :: Scored four minutes into the first half and six minutes into the second half as the Cougars downed visiting Colorado 3-0 Friday. (Everett, WA)

F - Haley Curtis (Yakima, WA) - Utah Valley :: Combined to set up the opening goal and tallied the second in a 2-0 victory over Kansas City Friday and then set up both goals in the 2-2 draw against New Mexico State Sunday.

INW WOMEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK :: F - Rashelle Fisher - CC Spokane :: Helped set up both goals in a 2-0 victory against Walla Wall and then had a huge game at Treasure Valley, netting a hat-trick and tallying an assist in a 5-1 victory. (Chehalis, WA)

F - Heidi Greenback - MSU-Billings :: Scored the equalizer in both games as they drew 1-1 with the Northwest Nazarene and edged Saint Martin's 2-1. (Woodinville, WA)
Kourtney Guetlein

F - Kourtney Guetlein - Washington State :: Set up two goals in the 3-0 victory over Colorado Friday and then added another assist as they completed a three-goal rally against Utah in what ended up a 4-3 overtime loss. (Monument, CO)

F - Sofia Huerta (Boise, ID) - Santa Clara :: Set up the lone goal with a cross in a 1-0 victory against visiting San Diego Thursday and scored the equalizer in a 2-1 victory over visiting BYU Saturday.

F - Julie Zamzow (Boise, ID) - Southern Oregon :: Scored twice in comeback win, 3-1, at Eastern Oregon.
