NWAC East Tonight 10.1.16: Top teams dominated Saturday slate

On the men's side of things, the division leading Spokane Sasquatch rolled to a big win at Wenatchee Valley for their fifth consecutive win, and Walla Walla cruised to a win against Treasure Valley to add some space over North Idaho and Columbia Basin, who played to a draw Saturday. While the Spokane women were idle, North Idaho picked up a road win at CBC to pull even in the table.

The match well a stalemate until late in the game when it turned into a highlight day for Brenden Kenley (Meridian, ID) as he played a role in all three goals for the Warriors. He set up Cristian Torres for the opening goal in the 76th minute and then tallied himself two minutes later via Alex Sotelo (Kennewick, WA). He capped the game with five minutes left by finding Juan Sanchez (Mountain Home, ID) for the final goal. Jorge Llerenas (Pasco, WA) made 10 saves for the shutout.

North Idaho 1-1 Columbia Basin
The two sides exchanged goals early in the contest and went deadlocked the rest of the way. Spokane 7-2 Wenatchee Valley
The division leaders left little doubt on the road against the Knights with a three goal lead at the break thanks to Breno Rocha and Jonny Cortez (Moses Lake, WA / Shadow MFT). Rocha found Cortez 22 minutes in for the opener and six minutes later scored himself. The hosts answered via Gerardo Reyes (Connell, WA) in the 33rd, but Rocha struck again in the 38th and Cortez netted his second a minute before the break courtesy of Eric Sanchez-Flores.

Three minutes into the second half Sanchez-Flores pushed the lead to four and Chase Reidt (Spokane, WA / Shadow MFT) made the gap five a minute later. Fabian Soto (Wenatchee, WA) scored in the 77th for WVC with Javier Chavez capping the game for Spokane in the 86th.
