The race for the second seed will go another gameday in the Great Northern League as the Cheney Blackhawks spoiled Senior Day for West Valley with a big 4-0 win in a scoreline that was reflective of how even the game was. Each side had numerous chances, but Cheney's fortune to finish enabled them to leap the Eagles into the second spot in the table at the conclusion of their final game of the regular season. West Valley, however, still has another opportunity to finish second Tuesday when they visit rival East Valley, which has the top seed sewn up.
Freeman's woes made them the first of the trio at the top to fall to anyone in the rest of the league as they were tripped up at home against Colville, though none of games on the night

Cheney 4-0 West Valley :: In a game that was very even despite the scoreline, it was the Blackhawks that saw their chances go in. The Eagles had a few golden looks in the first half but it was a free kick from Emma Scott on the right touchline that dropped at the top of the box at the feet of Abby Kasparak. Fortune though saw her miss the ball and it bounce behind her to the open Kaitlin Teeters for the finish. Katarina Smith made it two eight minutes later and a breakaway was finished by Mackenzie Huotari in the 30th. Teeters would add a penalty in the second half after a handball inside the six, but the runaway score was only matched by the number of times the Eagles hit the framework of the goal on the day, including two nice shots in the second half that smacked off the front of the crossbar.
