It was an eventful evening as playoff action kicked off for the 3A and GNL contingent. The Greater Spokane League saw its second and third seeds rally for victories against their Mid-Columbia Conference opposition and Clarkston registered an upset win at West Valley to advance to the second round of the 2A district tournament. Meanwhile, the semifinals of the 1A district tourney for the NEA saw a pair of very close contests set up the championship game between Deer Park and Lakeside as well as the consolation final to determine the additional seed for the cross-overs.
## 4A / 3A PLAYOFFS ##
3A - Shadle Park 3-2 Southridge :: The hosts grabbed a two goal lead with a strike from Kassadi Suitonu in the fourth and a goal from Morgan Nelson in the 27th. The Highlanders, though, rallied from a two goal deficit for the first time this season. Veronica Mulford scored on a feed from Katie a Benjamin, turning and firing with her left foot from 15 yards out to cut into the deficit in the 31st minute. At the hour mark a through ball from Ashlynn Picicci that Olivia Wicks put off the post from 15 yards tied it up. Five minutes later the Highlanders got a bit of fortune following a handball in the box with a Southridge penalty going off the post to keep things even. Two minutes from time a corner from Wicks, was nodded home by Benjamin for the winner.
"We had a slow start and Southridge took advantage to score four minutes in. We picked up intensity after the second goal I could see the bus legs loosening up," said Shadle head coach Donovan Hodgson. "We made halftime adjustments and center backs Ashlynn Picicci and Miranda Graves really kept them from any good chances. On the penalty our goalie guessed the right way and it went off the post. That took the air out of them and we controlled the game after that. We showed great heart and no quit."

3A - Kennewick 2-3 North Central :: The hosts control most of the contest but a somewhat tentative approach in the attack led to a scoreless first half and saw them trailing early in the second as Kennewick took advantage of a defensive miscue to take the lead. A mis-cleared ball on the wing was collected by Andrea Martell, who fed Trinity Demand four minutes in. The goal, though, sparked a spree as the two sides exchanged five goals over a 23-minute span. Three minutes later Kaylee Mellgren played a cut-back cross from just outside the box to find Mackenzie Letsch charging up the middle of the box for the first-time finish. Then in the 55th Quincy McDeid attacked a defender receiving a short goal kick, stealing the ball and firing from just outside the box. Martell would take advantage of another error three minutes later by picking off a pass in NC’s defensive third and unleashing a quick shot from about 35 yards out over the goalkeeper to even things back up again. The spree finished with a great goal as McKenzie Letsch ran on to a through ball played behind Kennewick’s backline by McDeid into the box. She drove to goal and tucked the ball just under the outstretched goalkeeper Minda Reynaga, who would keep the Lions in it to the end with a fantastic leaping save in the final 10 minutes.

## Northeast A League ##
Playoffs - Districts, Round One
1A - Freeman 0-1 Lakeside :: A battle between two of the league's top sides proved to be a stalemate on the turf at SFCC with the game going into the late stages scoreless as Hannah Pylant made 12 saves for the Scotties and Payton Williams five for the Eagles. It was the ninth shutout of the season for Williams, who registered clean sheets in all three games against Freeman, which tallied 42 goals in a dozen games and were only shutout one other time in their meaningless season finale against Colville. With seven minutes left Jordyn Newman would strike for just her fourth goal in league play this year to give Lakeside the victory.
