It was a pair of dramatic finishes in Wenatchee where the Knights got a last-minute equalizer for a draw in the women's contest versus Columbia Basin, but saw the Hawks return the favor in the men's match with a goal in the 89th to nab a draw.
The men's draw was a bit of fortune for Spokane, which had played to a surprising draw in Treasure Valley Friday that hampered their chase of Walla Walla. Both of the struggling sides from the southeast nearly picked up surprise victories with winless Blue Mountain narrowly falling 1-0 to North Idaho on Friday as well.
Meanwhile, it turned out to be a rough week in Yakima with the Yaks falling at home for the second time this week to a fellow contender. This time it was Walla Walla getting the win, keeping the race very close.
