HS UPDATE 9.19.18: Kamiakin Edges Chiawana, Lakeside Clips Freeman

In a pair of title contender showdowns Tuesday evening the Kamiakin Braves and Lakeside Eagles both earned 1-0 victories against Chiawana and Freeman, respectively.

##  Mid-Columbia Conference  ##

Chiawana 0-1 Kamiakin :: An early goal from Maddie Morgan, who intercepted a defensive pass to create the play, kept Kamiakin as the lone unbeaten side in the MCC as they edged out a Riverhawks side missing a couple key players to injury. The tally kept Morgan's scoring streak going through all six league games this season. The Braves were the last team to shutout the Riverhawks in regular season league play, handing them their only goose egg on September 14 of last year.

Southridge 4-1 Pasco :: The Suns kept themselves in the second position among the 3A programs thanks to Peyton Santos, who rallied then to the victory. After falling behind midway through the first half she scored the equalizer with about nine minutes left in the first half. After the break she put them in front in the 53rd and set up Violet Duran five minutes later. She would finish a hat-trick in the 72nd.

Alyssa Amann leveled things back out again just seven minutes later and after another Scott tally put Cheney back in front she struck for another equalizer. Two minutes from time, however, Huotari's second of the game was the deciding goal for the Blackhawks.

Deer Park 0-1 Pullman :: The result showed that perhaps the GNL is a bit stronger top-to-bottom than the table may present as the Greyhounds, winless in league play, won both games against NEA opposition (topped Medical Lake Saturday 4-0) and have a win over Shadle Park on their ledger. Deer Park, though, made Jocelyn Gross work for the shutout, eliciting 14 saves.
